Runners know there is a mythical 4min mile.
Fishers know that some fish are easier to bait than others.
Basketball players know hangtime is limited.
Baseball players know the top speed a ball can be thrown.
Golfers know they can't outstroke the wind.

Pool players they believe in anything. Even in records that are impossible to replicate as deductions of scientific fact. Assuming John or Jayson are amazingly fast human calculators the chance of human error in a over 600 positional and shot calculations would make them as fast as a supercomputer.

I am saying there is a lower and upper bound for pool shotmaking abilities. The speed limit is easier to test at competitions. The upper limit is easier to test in practice. Most practice runs are ending before anyone hits 300+ regularly. The 3 records based on existing data suggest on a normalized scale have a 0.001% of happening ever again, in English its BS.

That is technically impossible, the human brain is good but not that good.
You think the 4 minute mile is mythical ? Do you even know what that word means?

It took nearly 6000 posts but Danny's delusion has been surpassed.

Why would anyone use an electromechanical rack? That's ludicrous. One of the beautiful parts of this game we love is the randomness of it which includes variations in the rack.

It seems to me you are trying to over engineer something that doesn't need to be.
Please don't call him or what he talks about engineering.

I built a compression rack and it worked great but after a short period of time I started to notice flat spots on the balls.

Too tight I guess but I couldn't get dialed in so it just sits on the shelf now.

Can anyone be so much better than everyone else for entire generations?

Who here thinks Mike or Earl can be beaten by the old 14.1 rules on the old equipment against today's best players?

The degeneration of pool talent due to the dominance of 9 ball is a power limiter on their development in all cuesport games.

Do you plan on saying something interesting? Jayson quit playing against Earl in a 14.1 event, when Earl called the wrong number. Who has the stronger mental game? Clearly Earl.

Earl is clearly more mental than most. Some serious mental shit going on.

Is anyone planning to sponsor Earl to do the at home high run challenge and beat Jayson's "record?"

I didn’t know anyone was disputing it. I also haven’t been paying much attention either. He ran 626 on video, then it was reviewed and confirmed a new world record by a committee or something, right? Why wouldn’t it be legit?
You are way to sane to be in this thread Sir. You must exit at your earliest convenience!

Earl played on the same table under the same conditions and topped out at 238.

How much would someone pay Earl to break the record? Any film makers interested in turning it into a documentary about 14.1?

We all know pool players have talent, but who can market and monetize the attempt: to promote the 14.1 game,
pay tribute to Earl, Mosconi and great 14.1 players,
guide players and fans,
serve as the marketing campaign to make 14.1 great again.

Flailing and rigidly incurious iconoclasts in former days greatly enjoyed the bumblebee flight myth: the idea that engineers have proved that bumblebees can’t fly, or that bumblebee flight is not consistent with known aerodynamics. The idea is that bumblebee’s wings are too small for the size of their bodies. Since they do fly, there is obviously something interesting going on – bumblebees can generate more lift from their wings (a higher lift coefficient) than conventional aerodynamic methods should allow. They must be using some unconventional aerodynamics, if we can exploit the same aerodynamics we might be able to shift more air with smaller wings or propellers. Smaller cooling fans in computers, for example.

The aerodynamics of bumblebee flight were solved in the early 2000s, and modern computational fluid dynamics can accurately model insect flapping flight. Amazingly, the key is unsteady aerodynamics and leading edge vortices. Insects like bumblebees flap their wings so that a leading-edge-vortex forms above the wing and is stably held there for the duration of the downstroke. The high speed rotating flow within a vortex generates really low pressure – this is why air gets sucked down the middle of a plughole vortex. A great common, everyday human example of this, is when tea/coffee drinkers use leading edge vortices to mix milk and tea/coffee, forming the vortex over the back of the spoon by sweeping it across the teacup at an appropriate angle of attack relative to the tea.

Recent dragonfly drones, make use of those unconventional high lift aerodynamics to hover, in a stable manner and to cope with turbulence and gusty winds.

Arnaldo ~ Point is, myths asserted about 14.1 records can be either confirmed or disproven, proportionate to your acceptable arsenal of facts that reliably and indisputably make your case.

Common myth. But it was the engineers and the scientists that explained how the bumblebee flies.

You're saying that Earl Strickland currently has a strong mental game? LMFAO That's the funniest thing I will read today, bar none.
