I shot with a couple of them , there your standard hitting cue , imo there not much better than a mcdermott..

Just my opinion,, I dont want to steer up no hate ,from the Jackson lovers, but I call it like I see it.

Tough question to answer. They're professionally made cues by guys who worked for years at McDermott. I don't know what a solid vs. touchy feel cue is... and even if I did, I wouldn't know how to communicate that!

Jackson Cues was one of my earliest articles. Someone go look it up and find out what kind of crap I wrote about them ;)

Assuming you are going to use a predator shaft, then it will play like pretty much any other butt with a predator shaft. The butt wont affect play all that much unless the balance point, butt diameter, etc arent as you prefer.
If you are going to use the stock shaft, prepare for having to compensate for a bunch more cb squirt. Other than that, hit is subjective as to what you personally like. If the cue is solid and well built, it will play just fine.

Jackson cues

Make sure you get in on any Jackson at a good price because they do not have a very good resale value. Pretty cues to be sure, sort of like Espiritu cues, minimal resale value.

Laura Smith has played w/a Jackson cue ever since I met her 10 years ago. It plays solid and she loves it. Laura plays regularly on the WPBA tour and lives in the Denver area. I guess because of their ties w/Mcdermott they play similar & they are well made. Hope this helps.

I had a Jackson about 20 years or so ago. Mine was a steel 5/16-14 joint and it was very solid. It was one of the easiest playing cues I ever had and I played run out pool on a 9 ft. table. I traded the cue and regretted it ever since. I may buy another if the deal is right. I think they are built right and the workmanship is excellent. You really can't go wrong with one. It is not an investment cue but few cues really are. If you like it buy it and enjoy it. They are much better that the imports like Lucasi, etc.
