Admins, don't shoot me, I saw a few JB cases reviews already. But this one has a story behind it, so I had to do it. And also, not every thread shows pictures.

So the thing is, I ordered a leather JB case.... over a year and half ago, slowly towards the two years club. And, I admit along the road John Barton encountered life circumstances that prevented him from doing the case. But as a customer, I got very aggrevated since the promised one month time got seriously crossed.
Point is, you see a JB case here... So let's talk about the controversy that John Barton is. Although my actual ordered case is still in wip status, I couldn't wait any longer to stack my Mike Gulyassy cues away safely. So John and I worked out an arrangement and he made sure I got my newly ordered utimate rugged case at an asap time while their team can work out my actual case.

Having that said, I wanted to showcase my case, lol. The colour... I don't know what colour it is... The best thing for me to describe it, would be anthracite with a sky blue interior. That's a 4 by 8 case here. It's smaller than my current 3 by 7.
It's really snug. Like someone noticed in the other thread, I really hope not too much force is exercised on the shafts, even if they stay in the case for a long period of time in the same position.
Other than that, I can't deny that it's all in the details. The double seams, the well carried out measures. Nothing is left by chance. I have a tiny bit longer cue extension. Even that went fully into the side pocket, although I have to say, there's not a quarter inch left :p.
One detail I really like and I displayed it here, is that I asked Mike to build me a shorter break cue and as you can see, the way the case is built, I have no problems reaching it now. I no longer have to turn my case upside down.
I can recommend this case, really. Best buy for any buck.

regards! and ps John, I really hope to see my actual case one day :p

Further more, John actually contacted me to explain that the pressure applied on the shafts is lateral, so none of us need fearing the long term effects on our equipment.
That's a great business man right there for ya.

I don't know if my question applies to all JB Cases or just the 4x8 in particular, but in the picture of the interior of this case, it contains only 6 shafts. Can a total of 8 shafts be inserted and removed without contact with the adjacent shaft? 6 looks comfortable, 8 would seem extremely tight.

I have a 2x3 so not the same story, but when everything is full, I can turn the case upside down and shake it, and nothing will come out.

There is still nothing touching, and there does not seem to be an issue with pressure on the shafts.

Should note that I put my cues in reverse to resurrecta

Since im looking for a new case and that a dealer here around seems to have some JB cases in stock, i wanted to ask 2 things:

firstly, on the pictures of the shop, the cues and the shafts seems to come very close (its a 3*4). on the other hand they put it in the base with the bottom (bumper) up?! is there any risk that the shafts and butts would be touching (lol sounds "strange" btw)

secondly, my breaker is a poison VX, and it has a rubber grip. now with this tight interior, i wonder if there would be any problems with this?

Can someone enlighten me?

Thanks a lot in advance

Thanks for your reply and the vids :)

Pricing is very interesting and they are not as fany as many other cases.
Might order one, want my cues to "sleep" well ;)

have a nice day!

I have the exact case pictured in the first post. Love it!

Did you ever get your Leather Case? He shows a bunch of leather cases in his showcases that he does on Youtube. was there something especially difficult about yours? Just curious, I was thinking of getting a custom leather from him.
