It's very sad and destructive when buffones and uninformed individuals want to start a thread of rumor that is incorrect and damaging. Here are the facts and the truth . As some of you know I am a close friend for many years with Johnny and talk many times every week . Johnny has for sometime been looking for a different location and has been in negotiations with the the landlord. He has no intentions of closing his pool room only downsizing to a smaller space either at the present location if it can be negotiated or at another location .@

I am not a buffoon; I simply made a mistake and am working hard to fix it.

I took it as you were asking after what you heard. Obviously there was some truth in this and it gave the opportunity for someone with knowledge to confirm or deny, but there was no need to call anyone a buffones. Which I'm guessing is a flock of buffoons. Or maybe a herd. I'm sure someone here can clarify.

Either way I'm glad to hear the room will still be open in some fashion. I've been there once and had a great time.

Rich,

Don't sweat it. The error has been corrected and we all make errors. I cannot delete the thread as the news is already our and Johnny wants it corrected, so that has been done. Johnny has the same problems all pool room owners face in a declining market. He is wise to downsize in some way. His current room is just too many square feet.

Very unfortunate that rumors, innuendo and hearsay can torpedo someone's reputation or business.

Yes Rich you did stand corrected and made honest effort to correct. My apology to you in my choice of an adjective. No insult intended .

FWIW, I didn't see your thread as malicious/damaging. The title of the thread itself indicated you were making an inquiry...not a statement. On top of that, some of what you wrote is apparently true or Johnny wouldn't be looking to downsize.

Regardless of the size of his room, if I'm ever in the area I will certainly stop by his room and drop a few bucks while I'm there.

I love MBC too...it just needs a lot of work to get it back to where it used to be. It one was a busy place with a good amount of tournaments coming through there. I also heard that the room was closing but I would rather see that place turn around. It has the potential of being one of the best rooms in Atlanta but not if there sin't any heart put intothe place. The "rumor", unfortunatly is a believable seneario. Simple things like wiping the tables down every night and cleaning the balls would go a long way...it shows that those type of things are important to you and the room...
