Here is a older JossWest with the sideways W logo. It has Tupilwood points and Butt Sleeve with four black veneers.Irish linen wrap light color with green specs. It is Tulipwood points int BEM forearm with Four real Ebony wood veeners. The beautiful 5/16x14 shafts are very dense and hit great. Call me anytime 209 823-9444. It has super sharp points that are very even. No dents dings or scatches. I made a mistake, this is Tulipwood recut into Ebony.See I'm not perfect!
Butt 16.06 oz
Shaft 1 4.1 oz 13mm Aegis ferrule Triangle tip
Shaft 2 3.6 oz 125mm Ivory ferrule Triangle tip

Are you sure they are veneers (I'm sure you know your cue)? The only reason I mentions this is because, if memory serves, those were supposed to be re-cuts.

could be

They very well could be recuts, they look like it. I just didn't know that he did recuts way back then. I'm sorry for my ignorance. Someone will be getting a rare cue!

You should be able to se the dif between recuts, and veneers. Hard to tell from the pics, but up close and in hand would be simple. Use a magnifying glass if u have to.

Great cue BTW!

very tempting.. does anyone know how many of these were made? I know of two others where the points were cnc and the price is much more.

I like those old JW cues and will share what I have been told. I am not an expert but I have some experience. Lately these old JW cues have tripped my trigger and I have spent the last couple years finding out all I could.

This will be either the 2nd or 3rd one, I have seen. These are indeed, recuts and nothing on it is CNC. The other ones I have seen has been this exact tulipwood, ebony combination. I am suspecting that these were are all made in a group.

Knowing these cues, thats why I giggled at all the "yahoos" making such a fuss over SW and other cuemakers starting to make recuts, like it was something totally new.

The ones I have seen were pretty rough and they were wanting $1200 or so for them. This one appears to not be 100% but is pretty good shape.

Take that for whatever its worth.

My best to all,

Ken

Raffle???

I wish I had the money for this cue. If you would raffle it off I would be in for two spots.

Bump for tommie, hopefully soon to be in the raffle section.

I know I run alot of raffles, and good ones I believe, but if at all possible I would rather sell this nice cue outright. It is a rare Recut older JW that would probably make for a good raffle but I don't know. Someone please make a good offer and make my mind up for me!
