I'm really excited. I just ordered a cue from Samsara. I know when most people think of Samsara they think of super fancy woodworking, and with good reason. Mine, however, is fairly plain. I basically started with their "Barcue" series, but changed it around a lot. I wanted a true "Samsara". Mine is going to have cocobolo forearm and butt cap, with a curly maple wrapless handle. I will get 1 shaft for completeness, but plan to use my existing Predator shaft which already has a Samsara ring on it. This is because I have been playing with a Samsara cue for about 8 years now. It was their super plain bare bones cue. The new one is constructed a lot better (they core all their cues now). So with the uniloc joint, my old shafts will work fine.
Just wanted to share my excitement.

I should also note that Jim Stadum was great to deal with (both times!). I talked to him in Valley Forge for a while, and he let me hit with my shaft on some of the newer butts. Very accomodating.

Very excited,

I have a Samsara that I play with, and boy does it get noticed. Not that I want that kind of attention all the time every time I go out to play :cool:

But that's what your Barcue is for, like my Viking is to me.

But the cue is, for a lot of people, a great conversation starter. I had no idea how many cue collectors or buffs were out there until I had my cue (pictured in my avatar). A few even recognized the cue maker before they saw the S logo on it.

Good luck with your new cue, and I am sure you will be happy with it.

Just a side note...like me, you can get a 314 custom shaft with matching joint ring and "chess piece" joint protector standard on all Samsaras for a reasonable $250, with a quick turnaround. I am sure they can do the same for a OB-1 or Tiger, if you wanted.

how long is the wait time for a new samasara??

That's what I wanted to know, too. I heard it's a one year waiting list. BTW, why a buy Samsara when you can win one, like me!@#?

Did you win or just have the ticket? Years ago I won a 50/50 raffle for a nice piece of change with the same number, 039. Always had a good feeling about that number ever since.

I'll put it to you this way; I can't afford a $1,500 cue.

It's kind of funny if you think about it; I carry with me to bar leagues a Viking and Sledgehammer that, out of pocket, I payed over $700. I don't worry about these cues one bit;

I paid $10 for my Samsara and Instroke case and I am scared to death to bring it to the same places.:)

Jim told me about 2 months. Not so bad. It isn't a "Barcue". This is a real Samsara I am ordering. Although Jim says the Barcues are identical in construction, quality, and playability-just not as fancy.

By the way, I already have a Predator shaft with a Samsara joint ring on it (which I use on my current Samsara). This was part of the motivation to take the jump, because I don't have to shell out extra money for a new Predator shaft. I am getting 1 Samsara shaft for completeness purposes.
