Lafayette, LA pool halls
I live in the Lafayette area and shoot at White Diamonds about twice per week. There used to be good action there when the owner, Chris Miller, was playing. About 2 years ago, he pretty much quit gambling at pool, and now with Texas Hold'em around, he only plays pool in a local league. He thnks that there is something wrong with his stroke and he can't figure it out. When he was playing strong, he could be the 9-ball ghost easily with break ball in hand, but not from the break. To me, that means he really needed to work on nothing but his break, but that is my opinion.
There really aren't any big games anymore, a couple if guys might play for $100 sets, but nothing like Chris used to.
Since he quit gambling high, he has not taken care of his tables very well, except for the bar boxes used in the leagues. There are 2 9 ft., 9-8 ft, and 8 bar boxes in his place.
Give me a call if you want to shoot some. I don't gamble at all, but can point you to who might.
