Is it possible that his cues are underrated? These cues each cost me $1k or less......

Bill's work is outstanding, and they're super players. I've got a real nice Q88 like the one on the left side of your pic. Have always loved the butt sleeve of that cue. The silver bars just sparkle, and the whole pattern lays out perfectly.

Absolutely love this cue.

Is the second from the bottom holly or ivory????

If ivory that's an amazing $1000 cue.

Bill deserves way way more credit for his cues than he'll ever get.

Amazing players.

I sure wish it was ivory! It's holly.

Had

I had one like the 1st of yours on the left, and like previous post stated McDaniels cues are some of the finest playing cues. I should have kept mine. Excellent collection.

Bill McDaniel and Bill Hagen.

Two cuemakers that made incredible cues, and frankly I haven't heard a good reason why both of them stopped making cues.

I have owned both, and most of McDaniels cues I liked except the ones with the "floating" points.

Hagen I thought moved to Gilbert AZ, but I don't know and I guess it really doesn't make any difference.

It is strange though.

Ken,

i talked with Bill Mcdaniel quite a bit at the derby this year.
He is hoping to get back into cue making.
You can tell just by talking with him that he misses it.
