A friend of mine has a Meucci Hook - its an actual early vintage one with the real inlays, etc. not the reissue.

He will sell it to me for 500.00 with two shafts. Its straight and in good condition.

I have searched but find such a variance in the value of these cues.
What are they really worth?

$200-$250.

Not a good buy. If you want it, like it, whatever thats fine.

The best buy today is a Southwest cue. They are often available, to buy and play with and then when you sell it, for about the same price you paid for it your cost is nearly zero.

Buying any production cue, including this Meucci is a loser. Expect to lose about 1/2 the price in the secondary market.

So if you are cheap, buy a Southwest.

I really don't want it. I was thinking more of a flip.

You'd be better off buying a Southwest to flip.

Flipping only works well when you get a good price on something people want. There are Meucci collectors out there, but they aren't going to pay top dollar.

i would say depends on the condition. the extra shaft is a plus. you can look on ebay and it seems like meucci's are selling pretty good, especially the originals. the way i look at it: If you want to sell a meucci then put it on ebay. If you want to buy a meucci, look here because they dont sell for very much on this website.

I got a buddy with this same cue. It's in mint condition and I wouldn't give more than $275 for it. It's a good cue, but not worth 5 bills if you ask me.

I just sold a meucci rev 2 for 400 bucks and have another meucci already up to 209 bucks with 2 days left on ebay. Neither of these are Originals and had lots od inquiries. Whether you like meucci or not doesnt matter in regards to how they sell. At 500 you probably wouldnt make any money but i promise you would get more than 250 dollars

It's a good cue! If you can get if for $400 I'm sure you can sell it for $500.
As long as the butt is straight....

I just sold one today, pre-dot, no scratches on the butt and both straight for 225.00. I had been asking 300.00. I have a $1,300 metallic series in super condition that Steve lomax designed for meucci that I offered to a guy for 500.00, no sale. Check e-bay, i have seen several of the hook cues sell for 250.00 to 325.00.

the only hook listed right now that i see is listed at 1,000 but i may have missed a few. i say this with all seriousness, look me up if you have any Originals in good shape for sale for the prices you are talking about. i must have really good luck selling meucci's on the bay, because im selling the newer less valuable ones for these prices.
