WELL, I TOOK A CHANCE ON A CUEMAKER THAT I HAD NEVER OWNED ANYTHING FROM BEFORE. I AM VERY HAPPY I TOOK THIS CHANCE. MIKE MAKES A NICE LOOKING CUE. (I'LL SEE HOW IT PLAYS TONIGHT) THE INLAY AND POINT WORK IS FLAWLESS, BOTH ARE SHARP AND ACCURATE. THE LEATHER ON THE CUE, IS DIFFERENT FROM NORMAL LEATHER. I'M UNSURE WHAT IT IS BUT IT HAS A NICE SOFT FELL AND GREAT TEXTURE TO IT. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.

wow, you STOLE that cue at that price.....

I'm sure it hits similar to a Schick.... ;)

Once again a really nice cue. I have never heard of Mike Wheeler either. You are a lot braver than I am taking the risk on a cuemaker you have never had experience with. There are a few out there that I want to try but not willing to do so because Im afraid about resale value if I dont like the cue. Really nice cue though

Man I would have jumped all over that cue if I had the cash! I had one of Mike's early cues that he made when he worked in Richard Blacks shop. He does superb work, you won't be disappointed.

Mike Wheeler works in Bill Schick's shop. He has been there for a long time. Prior to that, he worked with Richard Black.

I know Mike, he has been making cues for years. I guarantee you that if you placed a Schick and a Wheeler side by side, played with them, and neither had a name on it, you couldn't tell who made which one.

Mike also brings very nice money for his work as well.

The only risk was with the seller, not the cuemaker. ;)

can you get closer on the point work?

do you play with your cues, or do you collect for craft?

Thanks for the info. I have never heard of him before, so to me there would be the risk on both ends, but I would have definately done my research before committing to anything of that price. Nonetheless its an awesome looking cue and for the price its definately a steal. There are a lot of cuemakers working out of other cuemakers shops that really dont have the exposure their work demands.

Great looking cue. I'm a big fan of traditional styled cues and this cue looks like a cue i'd love to own. I think you made a good decision buying this cue.

I HOPE THESE PICTURES ARE WHAT YOU WERE LOOKING FOR. THE VENEER COLORS ARE DARK SO I COULDN'T GET GREAT PICTURES. THE POINT WORK IS CERTAINLY TOP NOTCH.

AS FAR AS PLAYING WITH THE CUES GOES, IT DEPENDS. I HAVE ONE MAIN PLAYING CUE THAT PETE TASCAERELLA BUILT FOR ME. I USUALLY HIT BALLS WITH EVERY CUE I BUY. THE ONLY EXCEPTION WOULD BE COLLECTABLE CUES, THAT I PURCHASED UNCHALKED, FOR MY COLLECTION.

what price is that? i see none posted.

I TOOK A CHANCE ON E-BAY, WITH AN AUCTION THAT EVERYONE THOUGHT WAS A SCAM. I STOLE THE CUE @1000.00. IT IS WORTH IN MY OPINION CONSIDERABLY MORE THAN THAT.

I edited a couple to see if I could bring out the veneers a little:

Hey Marcus - I'll glady pay you what you paid for the cue + $100 for your troubles and time...

That cue is definitely a steal at $1,000.00. You did good....real good. Congratulations

I Hit With The Cue Last Night And Was Impressed. It Plays Well And Moves The Cue Around With Ease. I Usually Use A Much Lighter Cue, So I'm Sure The Extra Weight Had Something To Do With How I Was Moving The Cue Ball, But This Cue Plays Nice. Jeff Is Right, As Far As I Know(have Been Told Several Times) That Mike Isn't Presently Making Cues.

I Appreciate The Offer Ross, But I Think The Cue Is Worth More Than Your Offer, Plus The Fact That I Was The One That Took The Chance On The Auction. When I'm Ready To Part With This Cue, I'm Sure I Won't Have A Problem Moving It.(just My Opinion)

Just curious did you pay 898.00 or 1000.00 for the cue. Either way you got a great looking cue at a fair price. I believe it is for sale from another post. What is your asking price for the cue?

IT WAS 898 PLUS THE 40 FOR SHIPPING/INSURANCE. I WOULD CERTAINLY SELL/TRADE THE CUE FOR THE RIGHT DEAL. I HAVE A FEW OFFERS, BUT NO SOLID DEALS AS OF NOW. I THINK THE CUE SHOULD BRING @1500.00

$1500 all day.
if it said schick, its a $3500 cue.

good buy marcus.

CHRIS

I agree.

I think a good comparison would be Art Cantando and Barry Szamboti. Obviously Barry's cues go for more money but Art's are starting to reel it in too.

Great catch on a beautiful cue.
