Yes, I would like to know if there is a limit to how far a person is allowed to use racial slur. When such terms are used, it is not just insulting to the subject of the slur--but the ethnic group in general. It can become very offensive to a lot of posters and guests of this forum.

i would suggest a self governing approach. if you think a thread is going too far, pm or email mike and call attention to the thread. he listens.

Thank you. I agree that censorship can kill opinions and smother the freedom of expression. I wish most people here would simply respect one another and not respond to posters they do not like. It is not fair to put the blame on one single person when a thread goes bad--it is always the responsibility of more than one person in my opinion.

I blame Turq for starting the whole mess, I do, but what did he say that would provoke someone using the word CHINK in response? Does that not step over some reasonable boundary? What would happen if the N word was tossed around in such a casual manner on this forum?
Mike has never failed us before, and I have already emailed him about my concerns. He has always moderated in moderation, and I trust his judgement here as well.

I also find many of the post that Ive viewed and or been apart of here go to hell quite quickly with posters calling out and disrespecting others views and questions!!!! Not quite my idea of a informative way to have a forum or the way to attract folks to your forum! IMO! when certain posters feel free to belittle others for asking a question!
Personally I have refrained from posting much due to this poor attitude and general atmosphere !

That thread about Jennifer's high run just went to Hell. I thought it was funny for a while and was laughing out loud reading it but then it started to really get ugly. What's new? In spite of all that, I'd hate to see the "Censor Police" getting involved. The best way to censor something is to quit reading when it starts bothering you. I don't like the racist stuff either and I'd really appreciate it if people stopped using it.

My post with blackjack was not meant to be an attack as I repeated many times both to him and to others at other threads. I was asking him a few questions beased on the contradiction I saw in his post. Rude Dog, Donal Pudry and Jack were all very quick in jumping in to call me all sorts of names, saying things about me licking teacherman's nuts, and that I was trying to put my nose in someone's rectum...etc...then my English was brought into question, then I was told to go back to school, then I was being insulted as being Fast LArry and a punk....
I did not call blackjack any names, and I was right in pointing out, which he also agreed in his later posts, that he is not coaching Jennifer any more and he has not been in touch with him for a long time...Therefore, his statement "if Jennifer has made such I run, I sure would have known.." was indeed false.
Moreover, I did not liek to see him saying Jennifer was not capabel of that run without knowing where that info came from or to verify with Jenifer first. That was my opinion and I have all the right in the world to express it.
A lot fo the guys here did not liek me becasue of the fact that I agreed with teacherman and that I asked a lot of people to vote for me to become Sarah's BF in the poll. They therefore did not like me becasue of their own emtional feeling toward me. It was not as simple as me attacking balckjack.
I should not have responded to rude dog and Donald Purdy but I was mad. I have posted to say that I thought I was partly the problem to the fight becasue I had the choice of not responding. It is not to say that they had the justification to use all the kinds of language that they used.
Look at the Flame War thread. Rude Dog is a hopeless guy. And I have enopugh class to not respond this time.
With regard to my comment with Deroo, I still stand behind everyword I said, and I have started a new thread to discuss that. There have been a lot of responses and there have not been any name calling.
It takes two to get into a fight. I should not be blamed entirely. If Rudedog and Donald did not jump in and try to pick a fight with me, if blackjack did not call me a jackass but simply answer my question, I owuld not have freaked out.

Anyway, it is over. My point is if you do not like me because I am Chinese or because I cannot speak English or because I am younger than you, then you are not being fair. It is discrimination.
But you still should not use racial slur to attack me. Just do not read my post. By responding with nothing constructive to say but a bunch of name calling, you are contributing to a fight which is being escalated by your own doing. If you want to respond, respond with something constructive. Like what Gerald G was doing, and I will be more than happy to discuss.
