Peach just got called on not having 3 balls pass the headstring... this new break rule is making people crush the rack!

Didn't anyone from the Mosconi Cup break the balls a few dozen times before they changed the rule. Another red check mark for pool. Johnnyt

Why not just break from the box?

they are.

they're also still trying to hit it as soft as they can and still make a legal break within the rules. the commentators mentioned that the players said the soft break was working despite the rules. clearly it's not.

They changed too many things at once. Break from box, 9 on spot, and 3 balls need to go all the way back past the head-string( not just past the side pockets. What a joke...and in one of the showcases in pool. Johnnyt

That loud ass dong when the shot clock has 10 sec. left has to go. That would screw-up almost anyone up just as they were going to stroke the ball. Johnnyt

safety battle just ensewed.

USA lost the safety battle and it looks like europe is going to tie the set 3-3.

i look forward to seeing your perfect event soon. when are the dates? oh, you're not putting on a pro event? too bad. cause then you could make the rules.

i think i'll just try to enjoy watching some great pool.

i agree about the "loud ass dong". it's stupid and unfair. how about scrapping the shot clock alltogether and telling the players to be reasonable and make an effort to keep the matches quite quick, otherwise they'll reintroduce it. maybe i'm i'm being naive i dunno.

Europe just took the lead 5-4 in the second match.

Rodney made a mistep after a pushout was returned to USA and gave Europe ball in Hand. They then ran out an easy rack to make it 5-4 Europe.

What I meant was today there was a team match which USA won then there is a doubles match, singles match and another doubles match. I was wondering if this was the first doubles match - which it is. Thanks for the updates and keep em coming.

I'm not watching the PPV but if that is what they are doing...trying to get away with a "medium soft" break then they deserve to get the foul.

The soft break would be like changing football rules so that gaining ANY yardage on 3 consecutive plays would be a first down...and it would ruin football just as surely as the soft break would ruin pro billiards...what is left of it anyway...in America.

I just watched the BCA semi between SVB and Mike Davis...the SEMI-FINAL in a MAJOR event and there were empty seats all over the place!

And that was with EIGHT THOUSAND ACTIVE POOL COMPETITORS withing 100 years of the event!!!

So, if the most active and most competitive pool players in America don't care to watch the pros, why would anyone wonder why the TV ratings are so low?

But still, many of us (but not me) complain about the TWO most exciting aspects of watching pool (in the eyes of the masses) the jump shot and the hard break!!
