It is made by Bernie Mikkelsen. Weighs about 20, 12.25mm tip, 59 inches long. There are 3 gold crosses all in line with the points. The rings are hard to see with the pics due to fuzziness and reflection I got from the flash (I cannot retake the pics, I am currently a world away from the cue) but they are silver and are carved and inset in the cue with a clear window type of setup that gives the rings 3D depth sort of look. The pics dont really do it justice but they give the general idea. If you click on the pic of the butt section or the forearm you can sort of see the detail of the rings.

Many thanks to Shorty for hosting the pics for me.

That is the ugliest cue I have ever seen  ! A big pat on the back for knowing that you didn't build it for me! Congrats to you and to Bernie for bringing such a personal item to fruition!

I remeber Bernie from his Toronto snooker days......I have no doubt he knows what he is doing , and makes a good playing cue..........BUT MAN~~!!!!.....that is not pretty~~!!........the few of his cues I have seen seem to be in the same category

Its not ugly

I don't think its ugly but just highly unusual in its design. The silver rings and the handle is the outstanding parts of the cue. But the multiple points on the cue seems abit excessive. But each to his own, just my opinion, no offence to anyone.

He definately builds a phenomenal hitting cue based on his experiance as a player and knowing what makes a good cue.

The responses to the cue from here and from people who see it in person are vastly different, most people in person who see it in person like the looks, quite surprising really. Perhaps it simply does not come across well in the pictures, as I said in the initial post they dont really do it justice and it definately does not have the same classic look as it does in person. The ringed forearm is a trademark look of Bernies cues as well as points coming out of the levels as can be seen there on that cue. There are 3 points per a level on that cue, you can only see 1 set as the others are out of view..

So, does the forearm have two joints in it or is it essentially sleeved with some other piece of wood as a full length "core"? It's definitely an interesting design and I'm sure it looks better in person than in the pics, as most cues tend to.

It is a two piece cue, the forearm is a threaded maple core with the ebony sleeves threaded onto it much as you mention. The area under the wrap if I remember correctly is purpleheart.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I figured but I thought I'd ask. :D
