Ok, so the photo is not what you expected.

My collection started when I purchased all of Mark & Connie Stellinga's nameplates at the beginning of 2006, that was 39 pieces. Since then I have grown the collection to over 400 pieces.

I don't collect reproduction or modern plates.

The 14 you see pictured are some of my best and oldest. They are all 125+ years old. Some are ivory, mother of pearl, brass, and copper foil over lead.

If you have any plates to sell or are looking for information about a plate in your collection let me know.

Great collection of name plates Rob, which one is the most Rare? If I had to guess I would think that it would be the Brunswick Brothers Plate, but like I said that is a guess.

Thanks for sharing

I have an AE Schmidt snooker table and if I recall correctly, it has a couple name plates on it. A friend of mine and I bought it a few years ago and used it in his garage for a while before putting it into storage. It is in good shape but I dont feel its worth a whole lot. I frequently check the market on old tables and it doesnt seem to be the best. It is apart and I will probably not put it back together but will try and sell it the way it is. If you are interested in the name plates I could remove them. While we were taking it down and had the frame on its side I noticed a number on the bottom and when I contaced AE Schmidt they told me it was out of the 1930's or lae 1920's. Its not as old as some od the plates you have but its roughly 80 to 90 years old.

Rob,

As usual, love your stuff.

Anybody interested in antique billiard stuff needs to get to know Rob.

Chris

What a cracking collection of something quite beautiful that uniquely says, "I love billiards". Top stuff!

The Brunswick Brothers Stephani & Hart that you mentioned Craig is probably the most coveted. I have actually owned 2 others. The rarest is probably the 3rd down on the left side in the picture.

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

Beautiful collection Rob! I think you should convert them to belt buckles and wear them around town!
