NEW Bulletproof Synthetic Playing Tips.

Update: I have installed the medium Recoil tip on my Revo (12.4) and it seems to be perfect for me. It draws the same as the hard green recoil tip and the hit is very close to the hard green Recoil tip with a more subdued sound. It compares to a medium-hard leather tip which is perfect for me.
The only noticeable difference between the medium and the hard is when I used them to break. The hard tip had a little more impact than the medium.

I experimented once I got used to the tip and played about 4-5 racks of 8 ball only having chalked once at the beginning, and that tip still has a coating of chalk on it (V-10). And, no chalk marks on my cue ball. It had been suggested that I might have been using too much chalk when I had the hard tip on and that might have just been the case. I'm thinking these Recoil tips might not need as much chalk as their leather counterparts.

My only wish, not a complaint by any means, is that I wish the tip was black instead of red, but only for aesthetic reasons as I can shoot with any color.
I'm again posting kudos to Bulletproof.
You probably know this, but just in case, be sure to tape your ferrule if you use a permanent marker to blacken the sides of your bulletproof medium tip. 👍🏻

Personally, I like the colors. They stand out and other players have asked me about them. Especially after they watch you run racks. I don't mind sharing what info I have with others about these tips. I love 'em. Therefore, if leaving the color natural adds to their customer base, so be it. I hope bulletproof is successful. Any company that makes an innovative product that improves performance and ease of use has got my vote!!! You can't beat their Guarantee!!! 👍🏻

We made them different colors for 2 main reasons. 1. So people don't have to remember what hardness or brand of tip they have. (90% of our cue repair customers come in and when asked what kind of tip they want they say "just put the same one as last time" and since we have no idea what black tip they have or the hardness it makes life difficult. 2. When you're out playing pool people can see from a mile away this isn't just another back tip.

I think the colors were an excellent idea.
Easy to see and recognize. If it draws the attention of some minor player or newbie to the game, it gives me a chance to introduce them to the only tips they will ever need. Just one less thing to worry about and we're all into that!! 👍🏻

I recently installed a Bulletproof Clear Break Tip on my Jump Cue. Results: Amazing!!
I'm getting over full balls 8" away, No prob. Less power required and better accuracy imo. The Bulletproof Clear Break Tip takes and holds chalk far superior to the Phenolic tip I had on my jumper. Being somewhat of a perfectionist , trying to chalk that phenolic tip evenly drove me nuts!!!
Chalk glides on and stays on this Bulletproof Break Tip. I highly recommend you try one on your jump cue as well as your Snap stick!! You'll be amazed at the results!!

Ive been playing with one for two weeks now ....really impressed.
Install was a breeze I use my gunsmith lathe to install tips and initially I had an issue not getting the really nice gloss finish on the tip..a simple reverse of direction and a sharp razor blade was all it took to get beautiful results.

The tip plays better than the G2 medium it replaced and looks as perfect now as it did upon install and I play alot. Holds taom chalk really well..ive hit in excess of 50 balls in between caulking and no miss cues..although that's not my standard practice I did want to see if it got slick if you forgot or neglected to chalk it. As of now I can't see a reason I'd switch..and not having to mess with mushrooming or major maintenance is an absolute plus

I have meanwhile tested the soft and medium, also some other guys from our club tested them. All in all usable. But there are two issues that are not performing on the highest level that I'm used to have from standard leather tips: We experienced that the grip is not on that level of a good leather tip, me and my guys from the club miscued much more than usual. Second thing is that the soft and medium absorb more of the stroke energy than used from good leather tips, we did much harder to thrill the cueball than we are used to.

The green (hard) RECOIL I did not test yet, and I'm not sure if shall test the hard one in future, because I expect still less grip and more risk of miscuing. And the medium was already on the upper level of what feels nice to me, the hard one would probably feel to hard to me.

All in all I think this innovation is great for barcues and their owners who will have a minimum effort in taking care of the tips. Or if someone plays a very heavy cue or plays spin and draw pretty much at the center of the cueball, the RECOIL could be a very good tip and very durable.

What color/hardness are you using? I'm still having great results with the red medium which seems perfect for me.

Perhaps the miscues come bcuz you're too far out on the ball?? I use the green (Hard) and it grips better than any leather tip I've ever used. It seems odd that you're having these problems with the bulletproof tips.
I massè better with the green than the Le Pro it replaced and I'm a non layered tip fan. Never had a problem getting all the juice I need w a standard one piece leather tip. I tried the bulletproof out of curiosity and it's one of the best products I've seen come along in this industry in quite some time. Just a foolish old Road Dawgs opinion of course. Your results may vary apparently.

I install by hand and the rough edge bothered me at first, but I've since learned how to trim the edge better w a sharp blade and no more roughs. Backwards did the trick, eh?? Good tip my friend. (Pardon the pun.)

The only miscues I have had were caused by not hitting with the center of my tip and would have been the same result with my leather tip..i did use a pick on the tip to help it grip and i stuff it every once in awhile

Thanks for the feedback. No matter how good something is there will always be people that prefer something else. That's why Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors. :)
