New Skip Weston

At least the sellers feedback is not also private.

Not much good can come from a private auction from a seller with private feedback.
 
This guy is a complete joke! I have seen him hawking Skip's cues on ebay before, always with the same BS. Looks like he just ripped some guy for 800.00 on the same cue....I wouldn't trust him!

For the record....Skip has no 'waiting list'. I would say his current build time is roughly 6 mos., not the 12-15 months that this guy is claiming. 8 pointers are not rare, all you have to do is order one. His cues do not start at 1500.00.....actually, 1500.00 will get you a pretty nice cue from Skip. I would say the starting point is closer to 900.00-950.00 for a basic 4 point cue. And what is up with the "Exclusive linen wrap"? WTF?!!!!:confused:

This guy is a complete scam artist, with his totally dishonest and misrepresentitive description. And it's a shame that he's doing this with Skip's cues. He may be "working exclusively with Skip" on designing these cues, but I bet he won't be for long after I forward Skip a copy of this auction for his review. If I were Skip, I would be pissed as hell!:mad:

Well, I have sent an email to Skip, forwarding the auction URL to him for review. I'll let you know what he says, if he gets back to me, which I suspect he will, unless he's incredibly busy finishing my cue. ;)

These type of auctions always cheese me. Make the starting bid what you would like to get for an item, bottom line, instead of this Mickey Mouse BS cancelling the auction or not delivering the item because you didn't get what you wanted for it.

I once sold a j/b for a lot less than I would have liked to get for it on eBay....i was a newbie then....but I still honored the final bid, and shipped the item as promised. The winner was very happy. It's called integrity.

And I am the one he scamed. The guy is a total phoney. I paid immediately through paypal and did not receive the cue, just stories. Here is my item number 7227444728. Same pix, same cue. I dropped Skip a note to let him know he had a new designer for his cues, I am sure he will be real happy about that. I have already reported this item to ebay, and filed my complaint with paypal.

Actually this cue is an extra that came out of a recent batch Skip had made. He had as much to do with the design as I had designing the Concorde. Unless Skip changed his pricing this cue is about a 1200 dollar cue from Skip.

I just got an email from Skip and he actually knows the guy and says he is a small dealer. Call me shocked! He must have just recently gone bad because he sure hasn't been straight with me. His recent feedback is real bad, but was good when I decided to bid. BTW his name is Michael Wold and he lives in Az.

Deadon, it's a shame that your first attempted Skip experience was a bad one. An even bigger shame that you are out not only the cue, but the money as well. Anymore, an eBay purchase, lately it seems with cues, is a dicey one, at best. Unfortunately, this is beginning to happen more often than not. Even here, you must be vigilent. Fortunately, here, there is a good sellers list, and people who have had bad experiences with sellers here are quick to post.

Yes, I did receive an email back from Skip, and he told me he was in contact with you currently. I try to help where I can. Nowadays, cuemaking is quite competitive...all vying for a small market share. The last thing good cuemakers need is some shyster making misrepresentative statements, and then ripping people off of their hard earned dollars to boot. When people like this falsely align themselves to a cuemaker, they can do damage to a cuemakers reputation, and often the cuemaker is completely unaware.

I hope you are able to recoup your funds, and then perhaps you can have Skip make an even nicer cue for you. I'll try and send some positive energy your way!!

On this auction he no longer accepts Paypal.
 
Well, it would appear that he has made a couple of revisions...Lol. Gone is the references to 'waiting list' and build time. However, he is still indicating that Skip's cues start at 1500.00. And he is still claiming that he and Skip are designing the cues together. Oh, and the linen wrap is still exclusive!!

My guess is, Skip made contact. :eek:

It's a nice looking cue....I always like Skip's 8-pts with the low "shadow" points when he does them into ebony. Turns out real cool looking with that fiery cocobolo he has/uses. Looks like they might be the ivor-x ferrules, same as Zylr uses.

I came into this thread because a number of the people on this forum are my friends, and if I don't know them now, I hope to in the future. It was my intent to protect them from people like you, that is someone who will lie and take their money, and then lie to cover it up. If you need a loan, go to a bank.

As for your conduct with other people in this forum, try me first, your are a theif and a liar. You are a criminal, you steal from people. You should be worried about he next knock on the door, because it might be the police, or worse yet, it maybe me, as I am on occasion in Phoenix. People like you belong in jail, and I am sure you will make it there, tell Bubba to be gentle.

Now if you want to threaten me with a libel suit, feel free, but first a little lesson in the law. The truth is a complete defense to libel. You have nothing but talk. However you have stolen my money, you could meet Bubba at the local jail, and I could sue you, which I might do if you keep messing with people. And just to let you know, I have been a lawyer for 25 years and would be more than happy to make your day.

So why don't you just go where ever people like you go, and leave those of us that do business honorably protect each other.
