Seems to me that the motor should be facing the other way so 1. you don't have wood chips, and dust getting in it near as much, and 2. it is'nt blowing dust all over a freshly cleared cue.:o

Looks nice,

But wouldn't it be better if the pulley was centered betwwen the chucks too?

How did your new carriage work......and the new motor?

Other than the chuck being rusty as hell, and me having to file the delrin down to make it fit, and the gear that moves the carriage on the lead screw falling off, and me getting hosed out of $80 for an upgrade that just got downgraded and shipping that i shouldnt have had to pay in the first place, its fine. Thanks for asking. I pm'ed Bassel, but hes been ignoring me, so here i am, pissed again.

Have a look.

First of all I only swapped the motor out, I did not tough the chuck, that was your own doing and you know that, you have had the headstock for about 6 months and it's evidence how poorly you took care of it.
Now the reason I have not replied to you PM is simple. I was just blown away for the fact that you had the nerve to ask for the $80 after all you have done, and all I have done for you to make it right.
I sold you a lathe that retails for $1600 for only $1200, because you begged and pled to give a deal cause that's all you had. The I tell you about a future product I am
Working on ( new carriage) that is suppose to help anyone with a aluminum bed and aluminum carriage to eliminate a well known binding issue that could occur if The gib and carriage are not perfectly tweaked. You turned around and twisted everything I said and made it sound the I sell machines with known problems. Despite all the lies that you projected towards me, I still made you a new prototype carriage with delrin dovetail interface ( cost me $150 to make) after all that you had the nerve to say that I hosed you for $80 when the truth is that you hosed me for $1000s in sales for every new customer who believed your lies and your short comings on how to properly use the lathe.
I just hope you understand the magnitude effect of your poor behavior. By the way, you are no longer ever welcomed to purchase anything from custom cue lathes. Its clear that despite me giving you free stuff to help you and improve your lathe performace, you clearly don't appreciate what I have done and only interested in falsely damaging my reputation.
Regards
Ps: your original carriage that I got back, despite it missing the brass gib, worked perfectly on 2 assembled beds, unlike what you were claiming

Man you are so full of sh*t. I never begged you for crap. I still have the email where you "highly reccomended" the 1/2 hp motor that you knew was junk. I have witnesses who saw the chuck on the head stock that i sent you, and it was totally rust free. You are totally unprofessional, and your products are junk. Theres a reason peopl are having a hard time selling your crap you pawned off on them on the secondary market. I didnt do anything to cost you sales, YOU did it! You knew it was junk, and you sold it to me anyway. As far a it being a $1600 lathe, how in the hell do you figure that? Chris Hightower sells a far better lathe for less than that, and thats why you cut your price down, not because someone asked for a deal. I asked for a price, and you sent me an invoice. I still have all the emails. And you sir are a damn liar! You remember in the other thread where this all started you said you would reimburse me for shipping the junk back to you? I DO! It just shows what kind of greedy scammer you are. Good luck with your future sales sir.

Joe

Its laughable that you would forbid me to buy anything from you again, lol. As if donating $1230 to your project research wasnt enough, you actually think i would give you one more cent? Lol! I wasnt happy with the parts you sent to replace the junk that came on my lathe, but i was going to just let it go and get my $80 refund from you like you promised, but now you have twisted it all around on me, like you are a victim. Remember, its my money in your pocket, and i know you will turn around and sell more junk to unsuspecting victims in the future, just like you did with you sanding mandrels. You ruined your reputation, nobody else. Now you wanna come on here and cry the blues because i didnt just go away after you lied to me and basically stole my money? Nice move Bassel, reall classy. Thats how you should run a business.

Joe

Joe...I have talked to both you and bassel.....At first I thought you were just a newbie.....now I belive your a hipocrite and have shown behavior of a lowlife......I can only go on what you have shown....before I asked I knew everything and just asked to draw you out. Chris sells his midsize small bore headstock lathe for 1700......so either you are ingorant or a lier. YOu sent bassel emails that bordered on blackm ail....I have seen them. I hope you gain some morals and integrity before you enter into cue makeing or you will end up like alot of others in this buisness. You have scammed bassel more than he you.........And I do not normally call people lowlifes....but in this case your actions have been self evident....until you can prove to me otherwise I will continue to belive this and if you have questions my phone number is in my sig. I offered to help you awhile back.....that is now off the table
You are entitled to ypur opinion, but id love to see where i tried to blackmail anyone. I just wanted my money back that was owed to me. Since you see fit to call me names, i think that shows a lot about your character. I understand you and Bassel must be close friends, but i think your judgement is clouded. Chris was selling his midsized lathes for $1500 the last time i checked his website, so thats where my info came from. As far as your opinion of me, well its clear to me that no matter how much i try, you will always side with Bassel. Thats fine, you can hate me, call me names, insult me, whatever you want to do, but at the end of the day, Bassel knows the truth, and so do i. I actually laughed out loud when i read where you said ive scammed Bassel out of more than he has me, and it just puzzles me that you would say that. If it were your $1230 out there, ill bet you would be signing a totally different tune. Maybe you are rich and thats not much cash to you, but i have to work pretty hard to get that money, and i cant just let it go.

I wont side with bassel if I think he is wrong....and when I think he is wrong I call him up and tell him so....ask him if you wish....But from your first post I smell something wrong....I would be doing this for hightower as well......or any other supplier based on your actions. Its that simple

My actions are based on the fact that i tried to deal with Bassel privately and keep this out of the air, but if you read his post, he openly admits he ignored me. Now, can you honestly tell me i shouldnt be pissed? And then you come on here, without so much as a single pm and insult me and call names. How am i supposed to respect you for doing that? Im trying to be mature, but dammit, im tired of getting the run around. Im trying to cut you some slack, because i honestly believe you havent truly put yourself in my shoes, so maybe you arent looking at this situation objectively.

Let me put it to you a different way:

I come to you looking for a lathe. You have one for $1150, but you highly reccomend i upgrade to the 1/2hp motor, and i do. I get the lathe and it doesnt work. I call you and tell you about it, and you tell me "yeah, ive had nothing but trouble with those motors and controllers. Im going to stop using them". Then you say you will send me a new controller. The new controller doesnt work either. Now you want to send me a different headstock with a 1/3hp motor to replace the one i paid $50 extra for. I ask "what about the $50 extra i paid for the upgrade?" You tell me "ill make it up to you on something else." I get the new headstock which is not what i originally paid for, then get ignored for wanting my money back that i gave him. Where in any of this am i wrong?

He never promised you a new headstock...that would be financial suicide.Look...I am one of the most honest people you will ever meet....I have put myself in your shoes before with others......I handled them differently.....You probably bought the lathe and them had buyers remose after someone told you the only cue lathe on the market worth a damn was chris hightower's....well chris spent years r&d thru trail and error.....some people don't remember that........Well bassel has made some major improvements one of the best being his h channel......i assure you My character and morals are not in jepordy......and the price is 1595 plus shipping
