I just heard that Shawn Putnam and Hillbilly will be turning down their World Pool Champioship Invites due to a lack of funds./Reno check. KT manages to negatively effect the WPC afterall.

They need to get the money together and go, forget about the IPT. I am not a big fan of excuses, they are pool players and they need to go play.

The way I understand it... one simply can't afford to go (air fare & hotel for that extended time overseas isn't cheap) and the other has a personal reason for not going.

Too late-they gave up their spots ( I heard). Who will replace them-anyone know? Hope America doesnt lose those two spots and on the other hand i hope they dont send some embarrassments.

I Know that 1 of them is going to be a qualifier and the other will be filled by Santos Sambajon... that according to the az home page.....mike

That's not true !!!

Putnam is not going to the WPC do to recent health problems. It really has absolutely nothing to do with the IPT.

I have been a good friend of Shawns for many years and I am positive he does not want any misrepresentations about why he is not going to the WPC.

I wish shawn nothing but the best in dealing with his health.

Hillbilly is not going either as I just talked to him last night.

Money is one of the problems. The other is that Charlie doen't feel very good about pool right now. He is actually questioning whether he wants to continue or not.

This event will miss both of you. Best wishes.

I had a feeling that this IPT crap was going to be a big letdown for many players. I cautioned every one that I talked to months ago, just be glad for what you get/win, but don't get your hopes up for next year or thereafter.

Even Charlie will tell you, I told him in no uncertain terms, there is NO GUARANTEE of anything, just a lot of hype. When the players would start talking about how great next year was going to be, I would say let's just see how this year plays out first. It is even worse than I imagined it would be.

I didnt say it was a fact, i just said thats what i heard- Sorry it was incorrect (my second apology). It's not like i said i heard you were cheating on your wife. Calm down.

Quite frankly id rather have people think it was the missing checks than that I was in "ill health" as reported on the homepage. To each his own- Get well soon.

It has been a big fear of mine from day one.

Pool is a tough game and a very competitive one right now. It is the passion of many and the distractions caused by the IPT many players emotionally empty. Players need hope and incentive, but, it needs to be realistc and attainable.

The Hillbilly is a good friend of mine and I feel very badly for him. As matter of fact I just feel sick about the whole mess.

He has rededicated himself and has worked very hard on his attitude and mental approach. He has made plans to help others he loves and cares for. Those plans, for now, must be re-evaluated to put it nicely.

Pool is a good game and enjoyed by many. Very few make it to the level of a Hillbilly or Shawn. It requires hard work,sacrafice, dedication, and much inspiration. Yank that from a person in any walk of life and all that is left, temporarily is saddness and depression.

Hillbilly is a strong man and will be back again. Some will say he made bad decisions and should have been prepared for this and to a degree we all know the answer to that. Trust, he has his honor and pride. He isEMBARRASSED.

Charlie is a friend of mine and I feel bad for him right now. I wish he had gone to the WPC and if he had asked me I would have helped him. I'm not going to call him right now, but just tell him I said hi and not to hurt those balls too bad when he breaks 'em.

I hope he saw some of the shows on INHD about the Bar Box Shootout. Charlie was one of the stars. I should have the DVD's when I get back.

The DVD"S should cheer him up. There ain't nothing Charlie likes better than watching Charlie.

I may go ever to Houston after the weekend and just pester the hell out of him. Trust though, I do know where to stop.

I was at the pool room and told a bunch of guys what Nostroke posted here and they were all laughing it up. Now that I find out that it was all a big lie how am I going to face the people at the pool room and tell them that I lied to them?

Will they believe me now? How about all the people that they spread the lie to?

I think I am going to hide under a rock and keep away from the pool room until this all blows over.

You are right-It was just so vicious of me to make that post. If youd like to post some equally as vicious rumors about me, go ahead. In fact i deserve punishment, make them twice as vicious!
