Very nice, I love a rosewood widow, I bet it hits the ball with authorityA big part of me wants to keep this one under wraps, but it’s just too special of a cue to squirrel away.
I’m also super proud of myself for sniffing this one out... If I hadn’t, I‘m certain that it would have been lost forever.
Just got back from restoration by the Petes, and they truly are the best in the business.
If there’s another non-maple nose Balabushka out there, the world would love to see it.
Enjoy!
* Note: I got the letter first, and then decided to pull the trigger on the restoration. Will update it eventually.View attachment 587353

I may be mistaken, but my understanding is that Merry Widow refers to a butt that is one solid piece of wood. While you're right, that implies no points or inlays, it also means no coring, or 3-peice (butt sleeve, handle, forearm) glued construction. I'm no expert but that's what I've been told by a few custom builders. There may be more to it, but to me, Merry Widow means no points or inlays.
Merry Widow does NOT mean one piece,it means no points or inlays or splices, just solid forearm and solid buttsleeve (regardless if cored or not for weight purposes)I may be mistaken, but my understanding is that Merry Widow refers to a butt that is one solid piece of wood. I stand corrected. Sorry about that and thanks for the clarification!Merry Widow does NOT mean one piece,it means no points or inlays or splices, just solid forearm and solid buttsleeve (regardless if cored or not for weight purposes)
No big deal and I hope I didn’t sound like a jerk... I’m a big Merry Widow fanI stand corrected. Sorry about that and thanks for the clarification!
+ four ounces for the shaft (typical)... Go ahead, you work out the 20 ounce math now.Letter from Tascarella states the butt weighs 16.04 oz., not 20 lol
