The S-line are solid wood with a sound-dampening core. Not laminated like originals. I'd like to test hit both these and the Fusion. I don't think they changed ferrules. Either the wood or the white plastic.Anyone tried the new shaft from OB cues: OB-2s. This is not the carbon fiber shaft. This is the successor of OB-2+. Hope this will fix the fragile ferrule problem.

OB told me just this morning that the S is solid wood, not laminated. Strange. That is not accurate. The S line are laminated (4 piece) just like the previous generation. The only difference is they now use Grade AA maple. I bought one when they were first announced (OB-Cs).
UPDATE: i JUST talked to OB. The S-line is NOT laminated. If the shaft you recently got IS laminated it is NOT an S but the original version. Said they got away from laminated due to ,and i quote, "glue lines, color inconsistency and blems".
Sounds like you got a Plus-line shaft. Those are laminated. Should be able to tell if you look close. Should see the faint lamination lines. They went from 6 to 4 pieces a couple years ago. Thanks for the info. I am kind of upset now. I will be calling OB in the morning.

Do me a favor and let me know what you think of it. Kinda interested in this and the Fusion.I just called OB and they looked up my order number and realized they made an error and sent me an incorrect item. They are sending out the correct item today with a pre-paid UPS label for my return.
I am very thankful for this thread or it may have been longer before I realized it.
