Not so very long ago, I was fortunate enough to meet a nice fellow from Corpus Christi, Texas, via the Internet pool forums. Although I had never met him in person, I got to know a little bit about the man from his postings.
This kind man, knowing I was on a hunt for a good-hitting cue and hearing my plight, e-mailed me on the offs and asked if he could make a custom-made cue for Keith. Keith was so very grateful and talked with Willee several times on the phone, giving him his desired attributes for a cue stick.
Within several weeks, the FedEx man came to our front door delivering Willee's masterpiece, which was engraved on the bottom of the butt, "Custom Made for Keith McCready." It is absolutely beautiful!
As most seasoned players know, it takes a while to get used to a brand-new cue stick, and Keith kept using his Bobby Hunter cue until he could get some hours of practice in with his brand-new WilleeCue.
Recently, Keith decided to put the WilleeCue in action, and he absolutely loves the forward balance and "feels" of this cue, to include the stiff-hitting shaft.
This past weekend, Allen Hopkins asked Keith if he could check out the WilleeCue and played with it for a spell. Allen liked it so much that he has asked me to send him WilleeCue's info because he is definitely interested, stating the WileeCue has a good feel and hits great! Old-school players like Keith and Allen know what they want in a cue and recognize a well-made one. It's all in the "feel," as I am told.
I e-mailed Willee recently and found out he had heart surgery several months ago and is on the mend. He has taken a hiatus from posting on the pool-related forums, but I want to express my thanks to him publicly for his kind gift to Keith and wish him a speedy recovery!
Check out WilleeCue's website.
