old brunswick value and restoration

There is a couple of old brunswick pool tables that an owner is willing to sell. One of them says Challenger on the plaque and the other one had a date of 1916 (I think) and had some nice inlays. How would I find out how much they are worth in good condition? The Challenger table is not put together, stored in an attic and needs new rails according to the owner. How difficult is it to get new rails for these old tables?
Anything else I should consider before making an offer on one of these tables?
Thanks in advance
Barrie.

You might do a search on EBAY for completed listings!? It's hard to say what they might be worth....depending on their condition :) -- wished I lived closer ;)

I have a guy that can make new rails, if you want his contact info PM me, he could give you a good idea of market value also since he restores and sells alot of antique tables.

try again

Any mechanics out there that can give me an idea what extra effort is involved in assembling an antique table. Replacing the rubber, and cloth, in particular.
Gotta be someone with this experience on this board.
Thanks
I am trying to get an idea if this is going to be worthwhile to pursue. I like the looks of the old tables but i expect some extra cost/effort because of their age, but I have no idea on what that might be.

I think the cost of restoration is relative to how much you want the table. If you are trying to refurbish it and make money on it, its prob not going to be worth the price or effort. In good condition an old table goes around 10k on the high side to the right buyer. If they really do need quite a bit of work(refinish, rails, rubber, etc), I think around 5-600. You might spnd that again in parts, plus a lot of labor. Several older tables are going around 6-7k on ebay right now. Around here you can get a table assembled and felted for about 150 plus cloth.
