I know it!!

I was at a tournament about 3 months ago. A cue salesman was there who had a "plain jane" for sale for $1300 firm from a highly respected American cue maker. An interested buyer hit some balls with it and wouldn't shut up about the hit of the cue. He went on and on. I finally broke out my Olney and said, "Here, hit some balls with this." He hit some balls with and his facial expression said it all. He didn't say nothing to me except, " I will give you $2800 cash for it right now."

I still have the cue. Jeff makes a great cue, and is way under priced for what he produces. Maybe he will wisen up and raise his prices to where they should be when he starts taking orders again. (and yes, I hope you read this :p )

Holy guacamole. Nice-looking cue, I bet damn well it plays just as sick as the workmanship looks. :D

I'm going to disagree with you Chis. ;) Jeff has a 3-yr wait list, with no end in sight. Someone has to know about him :) But you're right that a lot of people have no idea about his cues. They're way under the radar for most players on the West Coast and the East Coast. That'll change.

For those interested, Jeff Olney was my latest victim. He should be in the July/Aug. issue. Another wonderful interviewee with yet another different angle on the life of a cuemaker.
