I left my cue with Ernie Guiterrez, who makes Gina Cues, to have the ferrule and tip replaced on one of the shafts.

I also asked if Ernie could polish the cue because the finish was and is a little bumpy.

Shortly after I left the cue Fish and Game raided the shop, took every cue in the shop and charged Ernie with adding and abiding smuggling ivory.

In spite of having the worst week of his life Ernie contacted me and I am sure others that left their cues with Ernie.

Fish and Game returned my cue after I submitted an affidavit that I was the owner of the cue and left the cue with Ernie for repair.

After I got my cue back I decided to leave the cue in the same condition as it was when it was taken.

The cue was made by Gus Szamboti.

I do not remember when I got it, after all I am 76 years old, but it has the off color Balabuska joint rings and it has the early linen phenolic where the linen is not completely black.

The butt is 29 inches long.

Stainless steel joint and the joint pin is 5/16 - 14.

Between the joint and the wrap are four ebony points with red and maple veneers in Birdseye maple.

Below the wrap is a ring of small maple rectangles inlaid just above the butt plate.

I think the butt plate material is Delrin.

The wrap is from Cortland which I believe went out of business in the 1970s.

There are two 13 mm 29 inches long shafts and I do not know what the ferrules are made of but they do not look like ivory please see the pictures.

I will take my cue to any cue maker, that we agree to in Los Angeles, to confirm my cue was made by Gus Szamboti.

You choose the cue maker but I will have to agree to your choice because most cue makers today have not seen a Szamboti and will not be qualified to confirm my cue was made by Gus Szamboti.

After you choose the cue maker to inspect the cue I will ask the cue maker a few questions to confirm he can recognize a Gus Szamboti.

I will not risk shipping the cue anywhere to be inspected.

Please check my feedbacks on AZB and eBay.
