One of AZ's Best Features

One of AZ's best features has to be the Ignore feature and is definitely NOT used enough. In the FAQ area, here's what it says..."Ignore lists are used for those people who's messages you wish not to read. By adding someone to your ignore list, those messages posted by these individuals will be hidden when you read". So, here's what you do: click onto Members List...then click onto the alphabet of the person you want to ignore...then find their name and O.K. ignore/submit. It's as simple as that and eases a lot of angst and hard feelings. Unfortunately, Fast Larry and Bludworth didn't use it and agitated each other to the brink of insanity until FL got the axe. Silencer didn't use it and those that didn't like Silencer also didn't go through the process. With that, shit is constantly flying and feeding frenzies ensue among the pirannah.

In real life, we get to pick the group and kinds of people we wish to associate with and they get to pick or reject us for whatever reason. Sometimes incompatibility and diverse views AREN'T a reason for rejecting an individual.
I've especially seen groups of people get together every day to battle tooth and nail about politics with such venom that you would swear fists were going to fly.

Here, we're sort of thrust into a similar situation but without choice, nor are we able to rest our eyes on who's across from us. That does help, because here imaginations can run rampant and we can only imagine what the others are like if no actual meeting has ever taken place. However, we do have a choice to accept or reject just as in real life with IGNORE.

Although incompatibility can still bring people into the arena of debate and friendships, we tend to go with compatibility. These are factors such as a common interest (AZ and pool), experiences within that specific area, life long experiences, age, intellectual levels, etc. As a for instance, would I choose to pick a friend to hang with on a regular basis who was an early 20's, punk ass college kid that didn't know jack shit about life, who he is, what it takes to be successful in the world of business and long term M/F relationships, and has a monster ego and big mouth to boot? Hell no!! Would he choose someone like me who could definitely be his father and have worse things to say about my perceived demeanor or actions than I just did. Hell no!

And for those of you do-gooders who are now incensed that I would dare say such a thing to instigate things even worse and put me further on your hate list, I did that on purpose to prove a point. They are ONLY words and I CHOSE to write that just as a writer might for a horror book, to get you or me to shit our pants when reading his book late at night. Words stir the emotions and manipulate what we see and think. Another writer might write about something so sad in a tearjerker novel that you have tears streaming down your cheeks. I will admit, I choose to pick on certain people here just to take them on a roller coaster ride due to MY perceptions of them, which normally isn't too swift when I start cranking it up.

Now if Last Two is going to be so stupid to respond to what I just said above in any way shape or form, it just shows that I definitely got to him and am under his skin once again. It's the same for anyone else. But again, just remember they're only words and can be taken and felt any way you allow it to. That's why he is on MY IGNORE list as well as two others, because they have an absolute obsession with me, my posts, and anything that can be construed out of it. They've turned into stalkers just trying to hit upon everything and anything and I could care less because Ignore doesn't allow it to be seen and I surely don't have any curiosity to release it and argue with a veritable child. They have zero, zilch, effect. If Bludworth had any sense, he wouldn't be crying and whining about language on here and the individuals in his household and family that are subjected to it. Click onto IGNORE for certain people and that solves all problems on one computer for multiple individuals who are using it. They will see NO swear words or anything else that may be disagreeable.

This should create the usual firestorm, knee-jerk reaction from people that have reading comprehension difficulties and don't absorb the content. That's why I ask you, IMPLORE you, go to members list, look me up if you're agitated, and press IGNORE. Mike was real smart when he put that feature in and it'll make all of your lives a lot more peaceful. I can't wait for the usual stream of players to go ballistic and start their admonishments, name calling, philosophising, and whatever else. Once again, push ignore and maybe I won't have anyone to talk to...ever think of that? Much more effective!!

The ignore button is a good idea, however, I always remember what I read someone say in a forum or chat room several years ago, "Arguing on the net is like competing in the Special Olympics! Even if you win your still retarded." I try to keep that saying in mind whenever I have the urge to argue with someone. It doesn't always work but I keep out of trouble for the most part. :D

Tap, tap, tap. It's hard to disagree with that one. :)

Another good quote, "I'll fight to the death to protect their right to curse, I hope they will fight for my right to think less of them when they do curse." (attributed to John Wayne).

Well Pilgrim.... (as I stand here in my ten gallon hat and holsters) did the Duke have an Ignore option that disallowed him to hear any curse words, therefore not thinking one way or another?
If a tree comes crashing down in the middle of the forest and no one is within earshot, is there still sound?

FL POSTED THAT 6 MONTHS AGO, and he was crucified by the political correct po lice on this board. He had a picuture he put up with it. Driver maker is totally correct on his post, but trying to change the minds or attitudes of some punk high school teenager who now knows all there is to know in life I think was a total waste of his time and efforts. These punks are trying to educate him, he is trying to educate them. Its all going no where. As my old daddy used to say, you cannot change the mind of an ignorant man.

D'maker,
That's the thing about cursing, you're never sure who might be around to overhear (ie. little kids, preachers, mother-in-laws, angry ass-kicking likes-to-fight guy, potential customers, potential girl friends). Each to his own.

Willie...you're a great candidate for this. Type in my name and Ignore me, I plead with you. I'm not going to do that with you, because I've always liked your posts even if they weren't along my lines of thinking. You're just not getting this and having it sink in, is it? Click the go*#amn IGNORE button on my name already! And by the way, you'd be an absolute liar if you said that I do it on a regular and ongoing basis, so get off of your high horse, John.

If my wife hollers and bitches at me but I can't hear her because I'm in the garage, am I still an idiot?

...or something like that.

Wally,
I have the same problem. The answer is NO (as long as I stay in the garage).

D'maker,
I would never IGNORE anyone's posts, as I think you well know this is all just for entertainment (though I hope none of those guys you are spanking in the posts is 6'9" and newly released from the big house). I don't have a horse, but I wouldn't let him smoke dope if I did.

we could have several password access only boards, so specific groups wouldn't have to read the other boards at all, and be bothered by people they don't approve of. 45 forums with 3 good buddies in each of them. that would be so interesting.they could pat each other on the back all day, and no one would disagree.

LMAO...No Wally, but when you reenter the house do the same as you can do here...IGNORE

Wait a minute....I'm on Drivermaker's ignore list, and he's not on my list, so who's under who's skin? LMAO
