Opinions of my new web site?

I have it pretty much done, about to submit to Google. Suggestions welcomed, Thanks, Tom
http://WWW.LayeredCueTips.Com

Looks like a good start. Here are a few tips for you from just looking at the first page:

1) Try not to make your page in a list format. Make all the important information viewable from the front page without the user having to scroll anywhere. People surfing the internet are inherently lazy.

2) Try to use graphics that are of the same quality throughout- i.e. the ribbon at the top that says 'Order' looks to be of a higher quality than the rest of the page.

3) If I were designing it I wouldn't put the order form on the front page. Make it readily accessible but start with some testimonials or a video on the front page.

You want to pull people in with information to begin with about the tips not expect that everyone who visits the page is looking to buy. You have to sell the product before assuming that someone will buy it.

Just my opinion IMO take it with a grain of salt.

Here's a random website with what I am talking about:

http://blattbilliards.com/

If you notice the index goes down along the left side with a banner along the top. A dominant picture is on the front page with a logo. You need something to pull people in on that front page. Since you are catering to pool players find a picture or video showing how well your tips work. A lot of work into a webpage to make it look professional will go a looooong way towards getting you more orders.

I like this one a lot better than the last one. The only thing that I would suggest changing is the video section. It can't be viewed on a mobile device. I use my mobile phone as my main internet source. I think there are a lot of people that do that.

Your tips are cheap enough for people not to have to see them in action. I know that one person can do more with the cue ball than others.......I still like video.

I couldn't find a close up of your tips either. I may have overlooked it and sorry if I did.

Some testimonials would be nice too. I'm still going to buy some of your tips. They are rediculously cheap. I had to put a number in the quantity box to see the price too. I would change that. If people don't know the price up front they will look for tips elsewhere.

I hope you sale a over a million of these tips.

It looks good. A little basic but it doesn't scream Windows 98. The white banner for the header needs a little something. Just looks a lil plain and with the order button across the banner on the other side, it just leaves something to be desired. Maybe some sort of logo or fill in... Also it does look a lil dark over all. Hope this helps. Good luck with the venture.

Would greatly appreciate it if you kept this safe for work. Clicked on that link and it brought up something incredibly innapropriate. If you get someone fired because of that link I hope you can think better in the future.

Your right so I deleted it. Maybe you can as well.

Looks good for starters to me. Maybe the price will come in the next version? I'm always pissed when I have to fill out an order form to find out the price.
Please have someone edit for grammar and tense, a couple things jumped out at me and that always makes me think low budget.

Nice website. Love the table background image. I like the order here graphic but think it should link to an order page not the bottom of the home page.

If you leave a quantity blank in the order section it gives an error in the section where you are calculating the sales total.

I am the perfect candidate to support someone who has the passion about pool which you have but I was not compelled to order. I am not a marketing type so I don't have anything constructive to add for improving the marketing but thought I would point it out anyways. :)

Ultraskin is too small and Layered is too big. I agree the Order form should not be on the front page, and I agree you should give the prices, I also hate to have to order to find out a price. You don't really say if you give a quantity discount (like if someone orders 20,30,40, or 50 at a time).

I checked out all the menu items, and they seem okay to me. I like the video on the front page though, and I think a short 20-30 second video of someone demonstrating your cuetip should be added. Have them do a full length table draw, show a few spin shots, a couple of stun shots, etc..

You did make the medium sound 'kind of soft' and I don't want my medium tip to be soft, I like a medium hard tip.

Tom, I think you are missing an index page. When I visit the site (www.ultraskinlayeredcuetips.com) it shows me the indexed directory.

You can easily fix this by renaming UltraSkin_Layered_Cue_Tips.html to index.html or making a duplicate and naming it that.

Cheers,

not too shabby.

A little nitpicky thing: the top of the table background (head1.png) doesn't align perfectly with the repeating rail graphic (wrap1.png). You can see a visible 2 pixel seam where they meet. At least in firefox, didn't check others. Guessing it's the slightly different widths of the images.

Two Months Later

Do a Google Search on Layered Cue Tips and see who pops up 1 of page 1 after pay per clicks. Thanks for looking from the start.
