I just got back from Oroville a little while ago, I'd been there since Tuesday...Gabe is still on the winners side, IIRC. Other notables still there are Atwell, Archer, Parica, JJ Cain, Durbin, Orcollo and some others that I'm too tired to remember. Oh yeah, Charley Bryant is still on the winners side, my buddy bought him in the calcutta. Amar was still winning when I left. The losers side is full of talent, a guy from my town beat Chohan last night and Chris MacDonald today. My buddy Tinsley put out Stan T from Canada and another friend from Modesto, Paul Juarez beat Tang Hoa on the hill in the losers side, snapping the nine in! Kim Davenport was in the losers side when I left.
There was lots of action...Tony Chohan giving Justin Whitehead the 7 ball for a dime a set, they split sets by taking turns steamrolling each other...Lots was bet on the rail for that one. I got to see Morro and Galindo play Durbin and some guy partners nine ball, scotch doubles, hundred a man...Morro and team won 1400 pretty quickly, and then Morro beat Durbin out of another thousand or so playing heads up...Durbin has a stake horse running around the place trying to bark up action. I had to laugh to myself when Durbin was talking the stakehorse into the game with Morro. I hear Durbin tell him that Morro "can't beat anybody"...You don't have to be from SoCal to know that's not true. But don't get me wrong about Durbin, that guy is just ruthless on the table, maybe he is the best like his stakehorse keeps saying, but when Archer and Davenport walked through the room, ALL barking ceased. Justin Bergman offered Whitehead the 8, I like Whitehead in this game, that guy has a high high gear. Nick Krueger was there, playing well. A couple of Europeans were there that played lights out, I don't remember their names I heard they were Pollocks or something like that. Cherwyck was there, he won hill hill against Rachel Abinik, female pool needs more like her that's for sure

, what a hottie. Old Ronnie Allen was there, mostly at the bar, and ended up pitching a fit about something and going home. Johnny Archer got his AAA1010 beat by an AAAKK and got a couple thousand in the bad beat jackpot at the poker room there, some guys have all the luck! Oh yeah and my J4 offsuit beat Nick Kruegers KK and then my q7 offsuit beat his AA in a 4-8 holdem game...Feel the pain Canada! King Kong was in constant 50 a rack action, he's tough to beat that's for sure. Gerardo Jamito was there, lost 9 to 7 to Durbin the winners side. My dad, who plays jam up on a barbox lost 9-6 to Orcullo and 9 - 7 to Stan T. I got bounced by a guy named Wortiman from the Seattle area, a tough old guy that was very gracious as he spanked me. Danny Medina was there, another victim of Durbin. Corey was either out or in the B side, I don't remember. Ernesto Dominguez was still grinding. Richie Rich was there. They announced over the PA system for the pool players to please stop smoking bud in their rooms apparently housekeeping was noticing a distinct odor coming from the pool players block! Isn't it legal on Indian reservations?
My pick to win it all? Orcullo looked stron strong strong and you can never count out Archer. Durbin is all the rage, if you believe the hype. Amar is a sleeper, watch out. With Davenport on the B side I have to go with Charley Bryant or Gabe and the answer is..........Gabe. I haven't really seen him miss too much and I was there for 5 days, plus he's got that hollywood hairdo going on and it just might be enough to put him over the top. My town of Modesto still has three left in the final 32, Jeff Gayle, Paul Juarez and Kim Davenport, they're fighting it out on the B side.
God I'm tired. The team event was just starting when I left. More on that later but I'm beat. Goodnight AZ, that's the report from here...........Marc
