Alright...been bouncing around lately about which cue to get, but many of suggested custom cues. What do you guys think of Pechauer Cues? I don't think it'll get one customized especially for me but one that's already out. I might, probably send up to $350 for one. Any recommendations and/or any experience with the ones you have? (If you mention your experience, don't forget to mention which model cue you have)
Thanks!

I heard good things about these cues... no one has any opinions, recommendations, or stories about them?

Another question - Are Pechauer Cues only available online or can I actually find them at my local billiards store in the city?

I purchased a Pechauer J01 Cue for $209 going on two years ago. I was just getting back into the game & wanted a decent cue to see if my interest was still there.

Well to make a long story short I got hooked on pool again, purchased another Pechauer cue - "The Venture" & made some changes on my J01 which includes a leather wrap to replace the irish linen & had a Predator 314 shaft fitted for it as well.

I have been very pleased with my Pechauer cues and would recommend Pechauer to anyone.

I have a pechauer and have been very happy with it. I got a Jacoby just because I wanted a cue that had some customization that the Pechauer doesn't have (longer and a leather wrap). I'm very pleased with the Jacoby! I still love that Pechauer though! You won't go wrong if you buy one.

Rickw, when did you purchase your Pechauer?

Reason I ask is now Pechauer has many custom options(don't know exactly how long this has been available from them) which includes shaft diameter, length, wrap options(including leather - in black ) & a 60" cue option

Gee, I got mine about 5 or 6 years ago. It has points with cocobola. It's predominantly birdseye maple. It has a stainless steel joint. I know I could have gotten a custom cue form Jerry but I wanted to try something else because I knew if I didn't like the Jacoby, I would have been fine sticking with the Pechauer. I couldn't beat Dave Jacoby's price either, $495 with two shafts.

Purdman- What are the wood combos? $380, that's one hell of a price compared to retail of $580 or so!

Great buy!

I recently ordered a Pechauer Pro-J, with a curly maple butt section and an ebony forearm, black butt cap and joint collars, 2 shafts. This one's for my collection!

Zim

Hey Zim you are going to have to check my Pechauer when it comes in. it has an ebony forearm and butt with a curly maple handle and curly maple outline points. Its a neat design that I came up with and they are finishing up on it now and I should have it next week cant wait

NOSAJ- they are making mine at the same time. Mine is the the same, but with a black ring at bottom of ebony points! When I ordered mine, they said they just had another order come in for the same design! What a coincedence! Guess we have similar tastes in cue design! Of course, I do have a collection of ebony and curly maple cues!

Zim, the P 10 is cocobola w/ four maple points w/ black veneer ,w/ 4 ivory diamonds w/ black veneer. The butt is cocobola w/ four ivory diamonds w/ black veneer. Black and white Irish lenin wrap. Nice A, B, & C silver ring work. I traded a 2000 Espiritu for it a month ago. The Espiritu cue was $430 -40 %. that comes to $258. Thats what I got in it. Thus $380. I make $122. Not bad for a $258 investment. I also offered the guy a Joss A-7 for the same price. Tried to send him an email, wouldn't go thru. I will send you pics. I am not nuts, just reasonable. I was trying to do the guy a favor. Some people don't believe that. I don't blame them, there are some unscrupulas people out there. You know who I am and what I believe. I am like you, I don't make a living selling cues, I make some money selling cues. I am a Certified BCA instructor, buy, sell, trade, and collect cues, repair cues, have a VA. state Master HVAC liscense, and have been enlightened and blessed. I have a great job, wife, and life. I give these kind of deals all the time. Who do you think my customers are going to go to when they or their friends need a cue? That's right, The Purdman. I don't mean to put the hurting on any honest cue dealer. My volumn is so low, it doesn't affect them.
God Bless, Don P.

I got your emails. I'm just looking it through...can't expect me to rush in and buy it, but I am interested.

Although I now shoot with a custom cue, Pechauers are top notch. But I strongly recommend shooting with several of them to get the weight/balance that you're looking for. Cosmetics are secondary.

Very true kokopuffs, but how do you try the hit over the internet? Do you know many shops where they let folks come in and chaulk the cues and play with them before buying? I don't. How many tryers before you have to sell it used? Just want your opinion.
Don
