Political signs at a pool hall? Would you give them your money? Please no politics please just answer the question

I would not give a poolhall owner a cent if they had signs like that up.
There are always other places to play.
Except there aren't.
Are there other places (bars) that have bar tables, ya. Are there other pool halls, not so much.

Ever notice that to prove their point, the majority of people do 3 things: they talk faster,
talk louder and repeat themselves.
Many also make cast aspersions on your character and insult you. It's like blackmail, "Agree with me or you are a big meanie-faced doo-doo head!"

It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that ping.
I just don't care. If people are so entrenched in tribalism, it shows me a lot about them. Mainly they are not thinkers and are probably not that interesting or intelligent of a person. It's literally not worth my time to consider tribalism in politics. I just write it off as someone who has drank the kool aid no matter what tribe they side with.

I work with a guy who is a super pro trumper and I've got it to where he no longer talks politics with me. We still have good conversations, but any time he brings up politics I just play devil's advocate until he is frustrated enough to stop talking about it. I'd do the same with a super pro biden fellow. I don't care which camp you've pledged allegiance to, let's talk about concepts, not people. Anybody who ties themselves to a candidate and probably even a party needs to practice thinking for themselves. It's more fun to talk nuances of a person's personal political beliefs than play rah rah rah for my team.

I dont think I'd really give a shit as long as the tables play well and it had some cheap action. I try not to get involved in politics.

Forget about politics when playing pool. It really doesn't matter. The pockets are still the same size.

If someone thinks a politician (left or right) is going to improve their life then they are in for a shock.

Just like a below average player who spends $2,000 on a cue (of course instantly replacing the default tip with a $100 one) and $50 on a cube of chalk. They'll still blame their poor play on <insert cliched excuse here>. Nothing to do with their poor cue action. Nope - that bottom cushion just doesn't bounce correctly meaning their angles are all wrong. It's all about the angles you know...

Damn, OP said in the first post that he didn't want this to veer into politics. So half of the responses were along the lines of "Here is my opinion on your question, followed up with my political beliefs."

*sigh*

IMO, OP knew exactly where this thread was headed before he hit the post button. Where else could it lead? How can you discuss why a particular sign might offend you when you can't provide reasons?

I admit that the thread was going to have to walk a thin line, but I do think it can be discussed without people's political beliefs.

Maybe I'm wrong. It's happened before. My ex-wife said it happened all the time.

If they didn't want his thread going down 'politic avenue' they should have have just moved/deleted it from jump street.

It seems like Bad Business to put up signs that depending on where you are potentially offends about 1/2 the population.

I think people are way too sensitive these days. They share a view, people don't agree, and then many get mad, spread crap, or whatever, simply because someone doesn't agree with their point of view. If people can't disagree amicably then they need to grow up a bit, although I know we're passionate about things and people can become hot, and that I get, but in the end, hopefully we can peacefully walk away.

I would have no problems with any political signs, no matter the side they take, as long as they're not trying to drive it down my throat while I'm there. I'm there to get away, enjoy some pool, and avoid contention. Signs on walls aren't like sticks and stones. It's the owners prerogative.
