Pool Halls of the USA mainland

Hello all,

I have been very disappointed to not find any up-to-date lists of pool halls in the USA. Most lists I have found are out-of-date, do not have any details about the billiard parlors or their tables, do not show their hours, addresses or phone numbers. It's about time this information is available on the web.

Hopefully, every player here will send me information about the pool halls or billiard rooms of which they have knowledge and I can design a website with listings for each state.

I would like to know the names of the places, what size tables they have, how many tables they have, and whether they have snooker and carom tables or not.
It would be great to have the street addresses as well as the towns or cities, the hours they are open, and whether or not they have hourly rates or just coin-operated tables.
If the information starts rolling in, I can begin to formulate a website that will be available to all.

In the past several years when I have had the opportunity to take vacations, I found it very disappointing that I had great difficulty finding
any good places to play pool, snooker or caroms in all the towns and cities I visited. I know there had to be many within a short distance of where I was, but I did not find them. I ended up having to go to the only ones of which I was familiar at my final destination in Colorado and Columbia, MO on my way home.

steveb@ccrtc.com is an address to where you may send the information and we will see how well things go.

Thanks.

It's a great idea that has been tried before but what happens when you don't have time to update the room information? The USA is a big place.

Just a suggestion here. You might find that creating a Wikipage for Pool Halls where anyone can update it would be more accurate and up to date.

Good Luck.

Many people have been there and done that.

This has always been a great idea and has been done many times. Just Google and see how many directories there are or websites that have come and gone.
The problem is keeping up with all the openings, closings, going out of business, business changes, etc, etc etc etc etc. It happens daily.
Check out poolhall.com is was a great site for a long time but has been basically closed down for awhile. Not sure why but it shows what can be done. You could even print easy to use flyers for tourneys if you owned a pool room.
Wow, and did you ever check the Yellow Pages in your travels? I hardly know of any poolroom that would not be in the yellow pages. That is how I used to find all the ones I visited around the country. Try it next time.

I thought your idea of the Wikipage was quite a good one. Here is the link:
http://poolroomsusa.wikispaces.com/ I hope that there are players that have the time to add to this list.
It may be a while before I get on the road again, but trips without pool and competition are not as much fun for me as just traveling. I carried me cues for 1900 miles last year and found one player, five pool rooms and two games.
Since the years are catching up with me, I don't expect many more years of good playing.

Okay. There seems to be very little interest in maintaining an up-to-date listing of pool rooms. Perhaps all are quite content with only the few places close to them.
I cannot say I did not try though and as Dr9ball suggested, made a page that all can access and edit at their convenience, http://poolroomsusa.wikispaces.com/
I know many of the places I listed are no longer there and new ones are active.
There is no better way to keep the lists up-to-date and accurate than to let the players
edit them. No one has bothered to edit any list yet.
