Possible new 314-3 Shaft??

Tash, what shaft came with your 8k predator? I have heard of many people putting a predator shaft on a different makers butt, but it is unusual for a predator butt user to put an another companies shaft.
The thing I like about the predator is the consistency.

I have them all in my webshop www.doubledavecues.com with indicated (expected) delivery times.
All 314-3 available within a few weeks, 3/8x10 + 5/16x14 + 5/16x18 available pretty much right now.

Z-3 will take about another month or two to arrive (obviously could be different for different dealers).

I won the Predator 20th anniversary give away here on AZB and I got the Vantage shaft before anyone, even dealers. I played with the Vantage shaft and it is very good, but I personally like a smaller shaft. The Vantage has a 12.9mm shaft and I like to be under 12mm. It is just more comfortable for me. I wanted a z2, but a local dealer talked me into the McDermott I-3. It is a good shaft also, but I would like to put a Predator shaft on my Predator 8k-4 cue...

How exciting.
Honestly Predator 314 is one of the very few LD shafts that I can play and still make a ball or two.
Especially the 314-2.
I have one on my 25 year old Schon cue and it works like a charm.
Although I'm definitely a traditional shaft player the 314-2 works well for me.
Yes, I've tried the others. Not a fan.

I could def tell a difference between the original and the 2. I personally did't like the 2nd generation

That's funny.
I prefer the 2nd gen 314's over the 1st gen.

Does anyone know anything about the new shafts? When Predator went from the Break Cue to Break 2 they really only changed the tip. Is there anything really new about these new shafts.

I have used Predator products for years. I would buy a new product if there is really any upgrade.
I hope to get some info from Pred at the expo in two weeks.
If I get the scoop from them I will update here.

This is not even close to true. There were *many* differences between the BK and the BK2. These include:

different ferrule
totally different butt construction
different tip

The BK2 was quite a bit different than the BK. I own both. I think the BK2 was a significant improvement.

FYI, I hit a few balls with a prototype Z3. Let me just say it was fantastic. Vastly better feel than the Z2. The deflection was ridiculously low. The overall construction seemed great. I was very impressed. I must say those few hits made me want to take a serious look at the 3rd gen shafts. My buddy is now working at a Predator shop near me and tells me that the 314-3 seems to feel and play the best. I suppose that is quite subjective.

Anyway, thought I'd share.

About two months ago, I switched from the 314-2 to the Vantage shaft and felt good with it. Hope there will an in-depth comparison between Vantage, 314-3 and Z-3.
