I just started playing again. I have my Predator 314-1 shaft. I was looking at possibly getting the 314-3 shaft. I see on their site they have some comparisons on the Z,V,314 shafts but what about to older models. Does something out their exist? Or something to compare Gen 1 to 3?

Every player looks for a feel, someone else's opinion, might not be your game. meaning, they may play better or worse than you. It's about who we are, we are all different and we all like something different. Go out and find someone with what you are wanting to try , i';m sure someone will llet you hit a few balls with it, the shaft you are seeking may not be what you are looking for, it might be all in your head. When your mnd is right you will play well with anything that has that feel of the stroke.
To tell you the truth, i can measure deflection better than no deflection. It's all about what you get use too
Pick up a house cue you like, and you will see what i mean.

You must play in a better house than I do.

You gave good advice, I'm not aware of a way to compare shafts that is enough to tell how one will work for you. It's just hard to drop $300 for something you don't know you'll like.
Not sure if there actually getting the money but some old 314 shafts are high dollar. I've seen from $150-$300 being asked 🤷🏻‍♂️, might just pay for a new one

I have used the 314-1, 314-2 and 314-3. The 314-2 outperformed all on my SP8RW. The 314-3 plays good but doesn't feel as nice. Same tips on both I believe.

A Revo on the same cue feels like hitting with bricks.

I've been using the 314-3 for about two weeks now. The shaft seems a little stiffer, But i like it

The 3 has less deflection than the 1. How the hit compares you would need to try it out yourself on your cue with the tip brand/model you like. If you are looking for a really different shaft to try, the Z would be the next step unless you don't like the skinny shafts. Less deflection than any Predator shaft outside of the Revo, decent hit feel but stiffer than the 314.

I Honestly like the old original 314-1 shaft over the others and the ob-1+ wood ferrule I think they were constructed better the original z shaft was awesome but to each there own I shoot with a Keilwood Hsunami shaft kamui clear soft tip I love it

In my opinion the V-TEK dampening system took some of the feel out of the shaft. It definitely is a little stiffer than the 314-2. I've found if you install a kamui black super soft and cut it very short like down to 3 or 4 layers. They play pretty good.
