I am offering a Predator shaft for a 3/8x11 pin w/black collar. The shaft has been modified with a buffalo horn ferrule and a medium moori tip. The shaft is used but in good condition.
$175 gets it....

in some peoples opinions I made the shaft better by changing the ferrule, including some very famous cuemakers. Now I would appreciate if you wouldn't put negative things in a post where I am trying to sell something you pud.

I totally agree. I have a 30" predator shaft with an ivory ferrule and that top 4" inches of hollow shaft is plugged with a threaded dowel. The cue plays 400% better now and still deflects less than your every day shaft. The modification costs about 100.00, so if anything, the shaft is worth more.

However, if you are a narrow minded, believe everything that you read about a company kinda player, I guess that a making a pred shaft more sophisticated and better playing would absolutely qualify as degrading the resale value of the shaft. But, who am I to judge, that's how predator makes their money, by marketing to fools as described, selling them on a product that will make them play better even if they stink.

Just as a side note, I do use a standard pred shaft to break with and it breaks like an atomic bomb.

Thanks, It is refreshing to hear from an open minded individual on this forum.

i too am no stranger to a modified predator shaft. The best shaft I ever hit was with a less and a 3/4 in ferrule (.65) on a 314. Best shaft I ever played with. Another person I shoot with has a modified 314 and he is sponsered by a well known production cue company. So yes, this shaft, if amended right is an asset and worth the 175.

it's a forum you ass hole I was just stating a fact ya killed the warranty predator won't cover the shaft now. :p

Bad business

Matthew Staton, all I have to say to you is that ignorance is bliss. I mean what are your problems? If you were attempting to sell something here and I thought it was a piece of crap I wouldn't have put it on your post it would be none of my business. If you don't want to buy a product than don't buy it. Otherwise carry on with what ever it is you are doing and leave it alone instead of trying to hijack someone else's attempt to make a sale.

The shaft is still for sale. It plays awesome.

As for the warranty being voided I figured that was assumed. It is still warranted by the cuemaker who tapped the shaft and changed the ferrule if that is worth anything to you.

I was going to mention that as well. Duh, even if the shaft was in need of warranty replacement, the most that Predator would do anyway is furnish a new Partial shaft. Naturally, they won't pay a cuemaker to tap and collar the shaft. Apparently the other posters didn't realize that before they started typing. If you have a SW and would like a nice alternative shaft for it, this is the one. If you're an ignorant needle dick who's mostly worried about the warranty, then go buy a brand new one, factory tapped, and put it on you meucci, joss, falcon, viking, or whatever POS cue you are trying to upgrade.

I should add as a side note, if you are at a playing level where a standard SW shaft isn't offering you the performance that you are looking for, and/or you want to try something a little different, 175.00 is not a bad price to pay for a little experiment. To try this shaft for yourself as a brand new shaft, would cost you nearly double. 175.00 bucks for someone who already owns a valuable cue? It's like a drop in the bucket.

Pred Part-150.00/shipped
Tap and Collar-at least 50-100 bucks
Ivory(in this case horn ferrule)50-100
