Hello guys, I have the chance to acquire a Porper model B and a cue companion lathe. Both are used but only for tips and shaft cleaning. The Model B has quite a few attachments and the cue companion is the base model. What do you think is a fair price for each Lathe?

Since the Porper "B" is no longer made and it is popular with cue makers ... it will command a lot more. If it is the latest model (with saddle bearings) and in excellant shape I would expect to pay $3000 or more depending on the accessory's. The Cue Companion is still being made and runs $1500 to $2000 depending on options. Just my opinion and prices will vary.

I had the cue companion about 20 years ago. It's really nice stuff, especially if you're new to repairs, no spinning chucks to remove skin etc.

Above he said it's the base model, that's pretty limited in what you can do with it, no large headstock, smaller motor. It's 1500 new, I wouldn't pay more than 9 used. It is pretty portable though.

You can get the bigger headstock and motor. Matter of fact, I'm pretty sure that if you buy it with the upgrade you get 2 headstocks, one for shafts, one for joints and butts so it's not like the headstock on it is a waste.
