It seems the 10-ball is $15,000 added and the one pocket is $800 added.
There are so many expenses in doing an event of this nature, that it's tough to fund added money. I'm not at the Expo, but I'm pretty sure the pros are free to watch.

I'm suprized there is so little added to the one pocket.

$800 added for the One Pocket! That's embarrassing. I wouldn't even advertise that. I've seen more added money at a weekend bar table event with a $50 entry fee!

Am I wrong?

I actually don't think any money was added. If you add up payouts it's $6400 paid out and $7200 collected (225 * 32)... am I missing something?

One pocket

I think you are right. They usually take $25 from each entry for admittance to the expo. So they made $800 from the one pocket in door fees.

My error-sorry

That's why I'm not there. Have to get 3rd to break even. My friend finished 3/4th in the Open last year, 1,000 + players I think $150 entry & got back $1,150 or maybe worse.

Good for you. Smart move IMO. More pros need basic math skills and money management skills. Johnnyt

Every year 100's of pro and AM players complain about pay-offs for this tournament, yet they keep going back for more every year. Allen has basic math skills and a bit of greed. Johnnyt

No, it's mainly amateurs and billiard products. It's supposed to be fun and it is till they let pro's in amateur events.
I don't blame Allen one bit for making $$$$. He takes all the risk, and should get all the reward if there is any.

Eveybody here complaining about him making $$$ is free to put on their own event. Go ahead have a few hundred tables delivered, get yourself a staff, rent a massive building, take the risk, and then give all the $$$ back in added $$$ and free entry ro the event. And how dare you charge the vendors.

Now, we all know that will never happen. SO STOP CRYING about somebody making money!!!

I say it every year. If your an armature playing for money your playing for the wrong reason. I don't think Allen is greedy he is a business man trying to make a profit. I don't care how much money he makes from this event with untold amount of hours he puts into putting it together. I swear pool is the only game I see where the players think no one should make money but them.

All theses people should call a local expo center and find out how much money you have to put up front before you even know who or if anyone is coming. I believe Allen lost a chunk of money for the first few years he ran this event.

Players have every right to complain if they feel the money is not as good as it should be. Yes, the promoter has the right to make money but without the players you have no expo period. But keep thinking it is the players that are in the wrong....
