I need to tighten the bronze trim on the end of one of the side rails. It rocks slightly when pressure is placed on it. It looks like it can be tightened (small wood screw)if the long apron is removed. It does not look hard to do but I want to check first. Are there any surprises after I start?

Drop pocket table? Either way I would remove the rail and not the blind.. If its a drop pocket table it less of a job. Take the bolts out of a side and corner casting then remove the rail and apron bolts... Set the castings aside flip the rail and tighten ur loose screws'
there's 3 maybe 4 ways I can think of that it could be done but if I was u, I go this route..

rail? If its your break you are at the head of the table...If ur breaking the balls the first rail on the right side is the right hand head rail...If your breaking the balls the side rail closest to the foot is the right hand foot rail
-witch rail are you working on?

Use a long #2 Phillips bit to remove the screws holding the gully in place, you will only need to remove one small section..if there are several previous holes in the wood to attach the gully, use a white paint marker to on the holes you're using to make it all go back together smoother..

a 12 inch 3/8th drive extension helps removing the rail and apron/skirt/blind bolts.. I'm sure you will have fun with the casting hardware:)

Right hand head rail. I'm not going to tamper with removing the rail. It's set real good right now. The gent that recovered the table removed the skirts first and replaced them last. The rails were done separately. The skirt looks easier to remove than the rail...or am I not seeing the entire picture? Anyway, thanks for your replies.

U will still have to remove a section of gully either way, unless you have a right angle screwgun...working with a loose apron is much more of a pain than a single section of rail..
5-10 minute fix by removing the rail.

Best of luck, but if you don't think it's a job for you I would suggest calling that gent that set it for you. I would hate to have you drop that apron on your head or damage the table.

I'm ok removing/replacing the gully. I'll give some thought to a DIY.... and you are right about the apron on my head...Plus I'm ugly enough.

I would have someone help me if I do the fix. Also might just leave it be. Thanks again.
