I have read more than once on this forum that the Reno Open in June has been canceled. Can anyone confirm this or is it just a rumor? If true, any idea why? Thanks.

Please have patience with me, as I am slightly confused. Which event will take place at Hard Times, the USPPA Tournament or what was the Reno Open? Or both? My assumption now is that there will be no tournament of any kind taking place at the Sands in June. I am a little curious as to why the change. The June event always seemed to attract a lot of people

Thanks for your efforts.

I heard the hotel managment had changed and no longer wanted to do 2 tournaments.

The June tournament at Hard Times will be a USPPA tournament with an Open to follow just like the December event. This is from an announcement Tony Annigoni made in the tournament room in Reno.

As a side note the USPPA is also establishing it's own Hall Of Fame. In Tony's words " all that matters is what you did with your cue stick ". I guess there is a feeling some deserving people are being shut out of the BCA because of their colorful past.

Only 6k added to the open event vs. 24k in Reno, no where near the same event. :(

June 2007 USPPA Event Added to Summer Jamboree

Here is the info on the Hardtimes Summer Jamboree.
Every June Hardtimes has a June Summer Jamboree.
2007 will be the 10th annual.

Hardtimes is adding the USPPA to its Jamboree schedule.

The summer Jamboree is a 6 day event with 3 days of One Pocket and 3 days of 9 Ball. The USPPA will add another 4 days to this event.

In the past, there have been a lot of summer Reno Sands Pro evnet players to come to Hardtimes for the Jamboree. Last year Dennis Orrculo, the year before Marlon Manalo. Jose Parica, Santos Sambajon Jr, Geraldo Jaminto to name just a few. The LA players come up also. Plus the Bay Area contingent is always a factor.

Hardtimes Summer Jamboree is the biggest and best event in Northern California.
