Shocking, I know. Neil Fujiwara passed away recently. Many of us just heard the news. He was only 48 years old.

Neil was very much a firm part of the pool and billiard world. Great player and ambassador. He worked for Predator out of Jacksonville in the 00’s, and he moved back to his home state of Hawaii several years ago.

My wife and I had the pleasure of having breakfast with Neil at the Galveston World Classic back in 2009. Super nice guy and a darn good player too. He will certainly be missed. R.I.P. Neil, and thanks for your company and kindness!

Best Billiards...there's a flash from the past. I bought my first custom cue (DanBuilt) there circa mid 90's from sales person Ariel Carmelli...lol.

I used to play Neil in Jacksonville when I went there in 2007-9 and I got a Predator because of Neil. I'd get knocked out of the tournaments early and then record some of the later matches. Here is one of Neil and Little David. There are more. RIP Neil. I always thought I'd see you again.

I only knew him from his AzBilliards persona, and he was a strong proponent of pool and supported the then pool tour/organization. I mentioned his name to Keith McCready, and Keith said he knew him from California, maybe in the '90s, and that he was always a very polite young man, loved pool, and enjoyed talking about pool to all he met. It is so sad that he passed away so young. I don't know what the reason is, whether it is medical or an accident, but I hope to find out someday. He will be missed.

I was there when Neil played Keith at Rack n Cue billiards in Stanton,Ca. , around 1997 or 1998. Small stakes. I asked Neil his thoughts after the 1st set. He said, "I can hold him off for awhile but Keith just has too much firepower". Neil lost that night but it was a great experience for him.
