Sal Butera's Pool Room in Simi

Saturday Monte (atthecat) and I wanted to play pool but the last time I played at Hollywood Billiards on a Saturday the place was filled with about a million drunken football fans and sometimes its hard to make a shot with some boozed out fat guy in a football jersey leaning on you so we decided to go out to try Butera's in Simi Valley.

If you can get out there, I highly recommend it. Its a smaller room with 4 or 5 full size Diamonds and maybe the same amount of Diamond bar tables. Its a player's room with really not much BS, just tables and the opportunity to play pool. Very refreshing in my book and I plan to be out there again soon.

It was my (and Monte's) first time on a Diamond table and I really liked the equipment. Monte had a little tougher time adjusting, but I'm sure that after a few times he'll be beating my butt on those tables as well.

Thanks

Monte and I have been threating to play some but haven't got it together yet. Maybe I should propose a visit to Butera's before he get used to the tables. :)

Playing at Hollywood Billiards while the football games are going is out of the question.

Going to Sal's room was a good move.

Hollywood Billiards is a huge place and Jeff must have at least 25 employees there every second of every open hour and it must cost an arm and a leg to keep the doors open so I don't blame him for turning his fabulous pool room into an average sports bar or average convention center when he can.

Ruins the place for pool in my opinion. If you ask me, they ought to put the big pocket tables downstairs and the tight tables upstairs and let the players go up there with one waitress (Cristina please) and turn the downstairs into a zoo if that's what he wants, but who listens to me.

Sal has got a players room and I wish him luck.
