I remember New York SAMMY GUZMAN
Super nine ball player also won the world junior 14.1
Championship .
Pure talent split the pocket from anywhere the table.
He play lot at Golden Q Queens. NY
Sammy past way at young age .
Gone but not forgotten ???????

Yeah, Sammy was a terrific player. He and I played several times at the Golden Q in the mid-1980's, all nine ball, though I doubt we ever bet more than $10 a set. He gave me the six ball as a spot back then.

Sammy was a good straight pooler, but it wasn't his game of choice. I recall that Sammy was a Junior World 14.1 Champion, beating former champion Joe DiPietro in the finals. I'm thinking it was either 1982 or 1983.

Seem to recall that Sammy took Sigel to the double hill in the historic nine ball event at Resorts International, losing 13-12 I think. He certainly got Mike's attention.

His death at such a young age was very sad. It seems like yesterday.

Gone but not forgotten? Definitely!
