scuffing/shaping tip on Fury JB Cue?

I've had mine since the day the first box arrived in the US, and haven't done a thing to it. Just chalk it and use it.

I wanted to know the same thing about my BKII. It don't hold hardly any chalk and if I don't hit dead center I miscue. Any suggestions???

It will hold enough chalk to break or jump, but you do need to chalk before you use it. You obviously don't want to get to the extremes when applying spin, but I have no miscue problems, even going a tip or tip and a half from center.
If you are miscueing, you probably aren't hitting the cue ball where you think you were going to. Any flaw in your stroke is amplified by increasing cue speed. Many players try to get so much power on the break, the lose accuracy. And accuracy is far more important in a good break than speed/power.

exactly the response I was hoping for, thanks

100 Grit Sandpaper. A couple of quick scruffs and it will hold chalk great.

For the Fury JB or any phenolic tip you can use a TipPik to tap the tip until it has the desired roughness.

I used to do this all the time and with this method the tip will hold plenty of chalk. However I have stopped several years ago when I discovered that I could just apply enough chalk to an untapped tip to get the same amount of spin. Since then I just apply chalk without roughing the tip.

I use a Fury JB
