What kind of a return can you expect for me if I sponsor the 150 for food ? Thanx.

Where is your thank you post to Superstar? He convinced Mark to sponsor you.
Hahahaha! This is great.![]()
I think it's the least he could do. If it wasn't for your influence on Mark he might be sitting home come October.
I dont think you are getting enough credit in this deal.
Hi ChicagoRJ,
I would be honored to represent "Magic Chalk" at the U.S. Open. I have tried Magic Chalk before, and it is a very high-quality chalk, and results in very few miscues. I would be delighted to be sponsored by such a quality product. Mark Griffin and CSI are my first major sponsor and I want to ensure that I show them respect, and represent them fully. With that being said, I would be happy to wear a "Magic Chalk" patch during the event. I am looking forward for good things to come.
Best Regards,
Michael Wong
Hi AZB Community,
I typically have very thick skin, and I am not bothered easily. However, the amount of negative comments I received was slightly disheartening. Nevertheless, I realized or was reminded that there are a lot of good people out there in the pool community. I also made a similar post on Facebook, and I was surprised by the amount of interest in offering a hand. There were people who came out of the woodworks to show their support. Some of them I had only briefly met, and were from different countries such as Ireland and Philippines. And now possibly a billiard chalk manufacturer in Russia. I had only met them briefly yet, they respected my abilities enough to support me in competing in the U.S. Open. Also, I was touched by my friends and supporters on AZBilliards, they came to my defense, and had some nice words to say about my abilities, and my character as a person. I want to thank anyone who has stood by me and supported me, whether it be financially, or with verbally with words of encouragement. I want AZBilliards and the pool community to know that there are still good people out there who are a credit to the game, and I hope they still support pool, and the game we love.
I want to say especially a big thank you to Mark Griffin and CSI for giving me a shot to compete in this year’s event.
Hopefully, Magic Chalk will still be interested in sponsoring me. This is going to be an awesome U.S. Open.
Thanks to all,
Michael Wong

A very professional response, Mike.
And an excellent example of what I tell JAM....

I think you should start working on your doctorate degree. That Master's Degree is already producing fruit. (Good post)
JoeyA
Perhaps he should start a thread in NPR to take donations to work on that doctorate. The masters isnt producing enough fruit to pay for pool much less school.
Who knows...after this post we might see another emotional outburst from someone wanting to give the money to him.

However, if you choose to sponsor me, I will do my best to offer something in return, such as lessons, advertisement, or an appearance if it is in reasonable distance. I am open to other options or plans as well.
Thank You,
Michael Wong

Nice to see support for a pool player. Those ten folks that donated cash or sandwiches listed above, I'm going to donate a box of chalk to each of you so you can play with the same chalk as Mike. "Be Like Mike" Just PM your address, and I will send it out.
Another great gesture, RJ....but I'm hard to ship to....maybe I'll get a friend going that way.
I'll give you some action on a few boxes.
And Mike, whether you're eating a Subway sandwiche or playing nine ball...
....make sure you get the cheese.
No worries, I threw in a modest amount for your chutzpah.Hi Lonestar_Jim,
