Contact geometry is simply the geometry of shot alignment. It's mostly planar although obviously it encompasses solid geometry in practice.
The center point roll,
The point to point roll (equal angle opposites),
Reciprocal tangents and sections make the transition from planar to solid.
There is no computation involved. It's all connect the dots - like carpentry. It even accommodates the measure twice cut once rule since you have a scaled image right in front of you. All of it has been "discussed" here. Buy some mechanical drawing tools and figure it out.
For everybody else, you know this works. Quit dumbing it on the terminology.
