Haven't been around AZ in ages but I found myself in a bar in the California desert (where I now live) on Saturday with some pals. The tournament was an invitational, as indicated on the attached flyer. I was there a couple of hours on Sunday, didn't stay for the finals.
The folks at TJ's Steak, Pasta & Spirits (despite not having steak or pasta), did indeed have spirits, nice tables and a friendly crew, not to mention kindly adding $6,000 to the pot. They also raffled off cues & associated swag. I don't know much about Don Weir, but I'll leave that up to any knowledgeable posters.
I also had a camera so I took some photos, I'm attaching a few here. AZ only allows 9 pics a post but I figure they can afford 2 1/2 post for me. Enjoy....I heard through my rumor hotline that Shane won......
