Depending on who uses it the term is a compliment or insult.

Oh no, it's an insult no matter what. Just some people are too stupid to realize it's an insult, hence the side definition of woke=idiot.

"Canceling" is bad and immoral unless you are the one that does the canceling.
Apparently "snowflakes" still exist.
The hypocrisy is monumental.

Anything about pool in a national publication is a good thing.

Turn the above statements 180 deg and that is the definition of woke. You know, living in a woke society is like owning a home in a HOA. You will have someone, who thinks they are better then you, constantly telling you how to live your life.

Wow, this thread took a turn for the worse. Always good to get a reminder of why pool is where it is in the eyes of the world....pool players.

Anyway, very cool that SVB is in SI. I will admit I didn't realize SI was still even in print but glad anytime pool gets some solid recognition in the public eye.

I like when folks use the word "woke", especially in the Main Forum which is supposed to be about pool, because it means I can pretty safely ignore their posts. You certainly won't be reading anything new, interesting, or surprising.
