I have an antique three piece slate table that has just been installed. The slate is covered with Simonis cloth. I am not using the table yet because I am waiting for my irons to be installed. However I noticed then brushing the cloth a slight bump. This bump is about six inches from a rail and along a seam. As I roll a ball over this spot I can barely hear it click but it doesn't seem to alter it's path. I can feel this with my finger as I run it over this area. I do know a seam sealer was used but I am not sure what kind. The bump is probably three separate areas about one half inch each near each other. My question is how much of an issue should I make of this? Should I expect this to be perfect on this 100 year old table? Or am I being to particular?
