Sort order

So far I haven't found a way to change the sort order to show the newest posts first.

Usually there is an option in "preferences" but I cannot find it.

Any clues?

The standard sort order for threads when viewing the index page of a forum is by most recent post in each thread. Is that what you are seeing? If you do a search, you can choose between date and relevance.

The threads are presented in latest post first order.

Across all threads, at the bottom of the main forum page, tgere is a list for Newest Posts. Is that what you are looking for?

Sure, sort order is by most recent in the list of topics, but when clicking on a topic the thread is sorted as oldest first, which means first post first and one may have to scroll through several pages to to the most recent reply.

I'm not sure what I did right, but when I click on the topic, I'm taken to the oldest post I haven't yet seen in the thread. You need to be logged in for the system to remember your history, of course. If you have read all of the thread and you revisit it, you will be taken to the first post. When viewing the list of threads, you can click to the right on the latest where is says something like "2 minutes ago" and you will be taken to the most recent post.
