Lately every time i get into any kind of action i play bad. I Choke and let the money ruin my pre shot routine and my father Iowa_Player gave me a mind for pool by philip b. capelle. Im just cracking it open but told its one of the better books made for the mental part of the game. Anyone else got advice on how u got past the mental part of your game?

Try "Pleasures of Small Motions", by Bob Fancher, or "A mind for Pool" by The Monk...They both helped me a lot.

Edit: I mixed up two books above...Mind for Pool is Phil Capelle.

"Point the Way" by the Monk is what I meant to say.

Search for "Mind/Body Pool" in the Wanted/For Sale forum. You can IM me for more information.

I Ageee, Pleasures in small motions and A Mind for Pool are great books.

But as far as it helping your Money Game, dont know what to tell you. Because when you are betting and cant afford to thats just enough to tighten you up.

I Dont know what book would help you with that !

You have to concentrate on playing the game and not on the money you are playing for and that takes experience. I'm not sure there is a book or recording out there that will help with that. I've said many times that playing for money should not be an end in itself, just a reason not to miss.

mental game

Check out "I Came To Win" by The Monk. A great player I know recommended it last week, I'm reading it now, and it seems pretty solid. I've already read A Mind for Pool and The Pleasures of Small Motions, and those are great books too, but I hadn't seen anyone mention this one yet.
