Don't suppose it's a pool hotbed, but does anyone know of any good rooms or tourneys going on around there April 20-23? I'm going down for a few days, mainly camping in Shenandoah, but might hit some if I had an opportunity.

I think that new pool room Blue Fox is near Staunton. Blue Fox is in Winchester, Virginia. :)

JAM is right...I would say Winchester is your best bet. Harrisonburg also has a room (rooms?), but Winchester is brand new w/ Diamonds and tip-top reviews...

There is a small room in Staunton called Bruce's Billiards with 4 Diamond tables he bought from the DCC a few yrs back. Last I heard he had a Monday night 9 ball tournament.

Hey mechanic/player, is there no pool room in Charlottesville anymore? That's a shame, a town of 100,000 with no pool room.

Anyway, Winchester is really not "near Staunton" by my standards of "near"; it's about a 100-mile drive.

This is some great info guys, thanks. Sometimes you wonder what we ever did before Google, but this board gives it the 6 out!

No, there is no real pool room in Charlottesville, just alot of bars with tables that havent been re-clothed or re-cushioned in decades.

I have often thought of opening one as I am sure a first class room in this town would do just fine.

Do it! I'd give you some business whenever I'm down there (about to become less often now that my sister- and brother-in-law are moving to Austin). It's too bad there's not much real estate available within walking distance of UVA grounds, seems like that's where you'd want to be.

Oh thank goodness!!! Having been VA born and bred...I thought I was going senile or something!! Especially since I had a good friend in Staunton, and last memory was that Winchester was no where near Staunton.

Since I drive everywhere we go, an hour and a half is a hop, skip, and a jump for me.

I was born and raised in Washington, D.C., lived here my entire life. I have VERY GOOD FRIENDS who live throughout the entire Commonwealth of Virginia, relatives as well. I cannot tell you how much time I have spent in Virginia, but it's a whole lot.

If I only had to drive an hour and a half to check out a pool tournament, I'd consider myself lucky, compared to all the other places I have driven, all in the name of pool. :)

What, are you kidding me? An hour and a half is too far for you guys and gal? GEESH!
