I have some things I need to tend to that require selling my Sugartree cue. I have had this cue for about a year. This was Eric's playing cue until he made the mistake of bringing it to Vegas at which point I traded him out of it.
The wood is something Eric calls Scrub Oak Burl. Story is he was out in the desert and saw the big burl knot laying on the ground so he picked it up to see what if anything he could do with it. As you can see he did pretty good with it. The figure in the wood is simply amazing. He told me it was the only one he has made because there wasnt enough left to make anything else. I havent ever seen anything like it.
Its eight points of Scrub Oak Burl recut into Ebony going into a curly maple nose with great curl in it. Handle is the same great curly maple. Butt is all Scrub Oak Burl with Eric's scallops on both ends of the handle. I looked for an hour once and could never find his signature. I asked him on his last trip to vegas and he finally showed me where it was in one of the scallops. The black lines in the burl make damn near impossible to see if you dont know where it is.
Butt weighs: 14.9
Shaft 1: 13mm and 3.8
Shaft 2: 13mm and 3.9
Shaft 2 is unplayed by me and looks unplayed period with the exception of a little chalk residue on the tip. Shaft 1 is what Eric was playing with when I got it and the one I continued to use. It feels like just a slightly longer taper than the shaft 2 to me. It has some dirt in it from play but nothing crazy. Both shafts have Eric's top secret tips made out of John Waynes boot....or something like that. They are hard, they grip like hell and you will either love them or hate them.
Everything rolls straight on my table. I say this on every cue I sell: I am not a roll nazi. Nothing lifts off the table and it looks good to my eye. I dont scrutinize every little thing. It seems some buyers have never seen a straight rolling cue if thats you then dont waste your time or mine. Just trying to head off any problems before they happen.
Price is SOLD shipped in the US only. Not interested in shipping outside of the country. Personally I feel this at least $500 below what I should be asking but I am looking to do a deal ASAP so someone gets a roll on a nice cue. Payment via paypal preferred. Cue will ship via USPS Priority with signature confirmation and insurance.
